I've been really into making bracelets for the past couple of months. There are some, like the classic candy stripe, that are easiest with the string secured at the top and hanging down vertically, but there are others -- like those outlined in the instruction booklet here -- that require you to be able to keep one or more strings taut at both ends. The crafting board is perfect for that. (It could probably also be used for vertical bracelet-making if you stand prop it up securely. With the hinge on the bottom, it may not be the easiest way to do that at home, but I could see that being nice for travel, for example.)It comes with several pegs in various colors, which is fun -- you don't need more than four at a time, but having multiple means kids have more options (and extras in case any get lost). It comes with no pegs in, and you insert the number that you need -- which means that if on the bottom you only need the center one, you can remove the other two so they aren't in the way. Despite being able to be removed and re-inserted, they stay put remarkably well for bracelet-making when pushed all the way in. When you're trying to remove them, it's fairly easy to do that by pulling them straight out. But pulling downward or diagonally (such as when pulling a string tight), they stay put.I wasn't able to get all the string it comes with to fit in the case, but it's large enough to fit all the beads as well as some scissors and a few colors of string, which makes it easy to transport. Speaking of the string it comes with, it's very thick and smooth string, as well as some elastic. I think it's great for kids to learn with, since any mistakes will be easy to undo, but the downside is that the knots don't hold as well compared to if you used yarn or embroidery floss. This is presumably why the instructions recommend using glue instead of just a double knot to secure the completed bracelets.The case itself looks just as pictured and seems pretty solid. When I tried to stuff all the string inside and force it closed, the bottom hinge popped out of the top hinge and I had to snap them back together. I see that as a good thing, though -- it means that when pushed too hard, the hinges are likely to just pop apart (and be able to get snapped back together) rather than to actually break.

I really like the thick strings in this kit. They are much easier to work with for small hands. I looked up on YouTube on bracelet making patterns, as I didn’t really like the ones in the instruction booklet. The case was a little difficult to open at first. I like the cute carrot design of the case. It comes with lots of materials to use with your imagination. Nice kit for my seven year old granddaughter. We had lots of fun designing bracelets!

Two girls 9 and 13 really love this kit.At first I was concerned that they would get bored with it.. But no, after over 2 months they still enjoy using it.But even more important they really like making bracelets to give away as gifts to family and friends.Great to see them at that age experiencing "There is more happiness in giving than in receiving"If you have girls (or granddaughters) in that age group, get this for them...!!

This is a nice bracelet making kit that includes everything you need including little charms to add to your bracelets. It comes with the case which is used to make the bracelets on. My youngest is getting into bracelet making and so far loves this kit.I definitely recommend it.

I got this for my niece just as a fun.Little gift for her birthday.It's cute and it's a little bit different.Than what's available locally in store so I think she'll like it.I don't know what's going on with the carrot if that's a thing for kids or not but whatever it's cute
