A great duster once you realize the chamber can close
Ok, my ONLY complaint is that I didn't see any notes indicating that the chamber between the calcium and the crickets can be closed. Consequently, I looked like a dummy as I tried to understand how the calcium was supposed to fall through to the crickets. Once I figured that out this thing was great! It dusts your crickets and then returns any extra calcium back down into the chamber. You can then close the chamber and seal the calcium in the bottom. Thus, saving your from dumping your extra calcium out with the crickets. The calcium saved alone will save you more than the cost of this item over time.

Saves powder but bugs hold onto the bottom
This is a great idea for helping to save calcium/vitamin powders.Prior to this, I was using a small container with a lid. At the beginning of the week I drop in a bit of powder and then each day I put in the bugs and shake em up. This method works well, but by the end of the week the powder was all gone, mostly from dumping out when pouring the bugs. The unique design of this device has a closable screen on the bottom that you twist to close so you dont loose as much of the powders. I found that you do need to really tap it a few times to make sure it all goes back to the bottom before closing and make sure the caps are tight or the powder just seeps out everywhere.I have been using it for the last week and find that at the end of the week I do have much mor powder left than I normally would and that is the main purpose. The one issue I have with this is any bugs with the ability to "hold on" will grab to the bottom screen area and hold on for dear life. It makes it a bit of a pain to get them all out and I have to stir them up multiple times to get them all out.Other than that, I do like the design and will continue to use it for feedings. May even order a second so I can alternate between vitamins and calcium, maybe they will release other colors so it is easy to differentiate!

Works well for larger feeders.
I had my eye on one of these for a while so that is why I requested it. You start by adding your calcium to the bottom chamber, and your feeders to the top. Make sure it is unlocked so the powder can go through (my powder went through when it was locked though) and gently shake to distribute the product on the feeders. It evenly distributed it. Slide the top door open and add feeders to your animal''s habitat. I have some small feeders for babies and found they get caught in the grates a bit and need some help coming out. I think this is best for larger feeders, especially if you do not have multiple reptiles or amphibians. I have a lot, so I will probably only use this periodically because it seems to make it take a little longer. It definitely decreases the mess, though!

Game changer for cricket dusting
I was skeptical of another reptile accessory but this is so much easier than using a plastic cup. I'm wasting less calcium because what doesn't stick to the cricket falls back into the calcium holder at the bottom. If you give it a good shake (sorry crickets) it really coats them thoroughly. It's less messy and more contained than shaking them up in a red solo cup. You can adjust the top opening size to slowly release the crickets and you can remove just the top pieces from the calcium holder for cleaning without throwing away the extra calcium dust.I like how the color is radioactive green - it really stands out. My Beardie quickly learned what a red solo cup meant (crickets) which caused some issues with him knocking over drinks in solo cups. I'm sure he will quickly pick up on the new container since it's such a unique color and hopefully he stops knocking over red cups in the future.

Better than a cup. Thoughtful design but quality could be better
I got this for dusting my bearded dragon’s bugs, specifically dubia roaches and mealworms. This calcium duster works well, as it should. You put calcium in the bottom, then bugs in the top. You can adjust the size of the mesh screen separating the bugs from the calcium if the bugs are small. My roaches are fairly large so I don’t have a problem with them falling through the mesh. Once dusted, you can close the mesh divider and keep the bugs on top. You can completely screw off the very top of the bug section, or it has a lid that twists halfway. The bug section is quite tall, and there’s enough room for way more bugs than my bearded dragon could eat in several months. I’m only feeding him enough bugs to cover the bottom of this duster, and since I hand feed the container is actually too big. I end up pouring the bugs into a shallower container for easier feeding. It is designed well but the plastic is pretty cheap. The quality could be better for the price, which is a touch high in my opinion. That’s why I took off a star.If you’re feeding a lot of reptiles this is probably perfect for you. It would be nice in a smaller size for fewer bugs.

Simple and effective
Perfect for my needs and cuts down on wasted calcium powder when dusting insects for my geckos. Adding both powder and insects is easy and the threads seal well with no powder leaks and the insects are easily dispensed into the terrariums by simply sliding open the top and shaking them out. Excess powder remains in the bottom chamber to be used for the next batch of insects or to be easily disposed of.

Not for pin heads but great for larger ones
You can adjust the calcium chamber holes by turning the bottom.I had it half open and my pin heads fell down into the calcium chamber. My 3 week old crickets stayed in the cricket chamber. I used to use a cup but I’d always end up getting some left over calcium in their cages. This does eliminate that problem and I have far less calcium powder waste. The top also has a door that you can slide open to use it to shake out a few crickets at a time.

Useful
I have been coating crickets in a paper cup for years, and have had the calcium spill onto the floor on multiple occasions when the cup gets bumped! This is a nice solution for that problem. It coats the crickets more evenly, as well, and has a top to prevent the occasional escape.
