I would say this would be great for anyone trying to learn the game.
For any would be golfer who doesn't have the money to spend on an actual caddie this GPS watch provides a massive amount of information regarding the hole ahead. And loads of features to help you make that perfect shot.As well as the physical layout of the course it provides an indication of wind direction and also wind speed if using the MyVoiceCaddie app. and with the app will also recommend a club selection.Obviously this can come in very useful when playing the shot. Relevant slopes are also depicted on the screen as well as relevant distances such as distance to the back of the green, distance to the pin, distance to the front of the green and also the distance of the last shot. The watch was easy to set up and also fairly easy easy to use once you find your way round the plethora of different options available. It just has an On/Off button and then a touchscreen that works very well. Once in golf mode it will use the GPS to recognise the course and you are good to go. It has a good bright and clear OLED screen. I do have a smart watch that hasn't got an OLED screen and that is extremely difficult to read when outside. This one is much easier. The watch is charged with a magnetic charging unit that has a USB C charging port. The unit will stick to a metal surface and the watch then sticks to it to pass the charge. That is a really nice system. Once charged you get a very good life from the battery. The watch is fairly bulky but not overly so and is easily worn without feeling that you have a grandfather clock on your wrist.Ball tracking is done by monitoring the position of the ball before you strike it and then again when you have walked to the ball. When it comes to your approach shot to the green the watch will tell you how far it is to the pin, the back of the green and the front of the green. If you zoom in on the green view the detailed topography of the green will be revealed. Once you are on the green the watch will automatically switch to putt mode. In this mode you can walk to the pin and mark it on the watch screen and then go back to the ball and mark that. The watch will then give you the distance and detailed lie of the green info. If you are more that 5m from the hole the watch will suggest a direction that you should be hitting the ball in. Inside 5m you will only get information on if the green is rising to the pin or falling. There is an app available on the Apple store called MyVoiceCaddie on which, among a multitude of other things, you can search for and download the course you are playing. This watch is crammed with features and I don't envisage using a lot of them but better to have them and ignore some of them than not have them at all. One thing of note was I did run into trouble with the shot counter. The watch will count the number of shots taken on a hole but will not count the very short tap ins where the ball is only traveling a very short distance into the hole. This handy watch is going to take a lot of guesswork out of playing a round of golf. I wouldn't see it as an aide that should be used long term but more like a set of stabilisers on a child's bike. Use them until the kiddy gets a good sense of balance and can ride without stabilisers and then remove them. I look upon this watch as a coach until you are better able to judge things for yourself. One problem though is that it is quite a complex piece of kit and needs a lot of learning to get the best out of it.Value wise I would say this watch is fairly expensive but really not so in relation to other brands and it could just mean the difference between someone continuing in the sport or jacking it in due to frustration because it is just too hard to breakthrough to a stage where you can play with confidence. It is also applicable for those who can't afford too many lessons with the club pro, although it can't replace that personal input where technique can be taught.

I play right handed but putting left handed, watch does not pick that up, so scoring is erratic
