Black blade/black G10 version. If one wishes to carry a "backpocket" folding santoku for defense, this is certainly the knife. Built well, holds nice, smooth opening, sharp out-the-box. Just plain cool to fidget. Three sets of jimping for multiple hold points.Since it is shaped like the Japanese kitchen knife, I had to try it on some veggies. Too much drag compared to a satin finished blade. Thin enough, but a tad thinner would cut veggies better. If I wanted to cook with it, I'd recommend the non-black version.Cool knife. Very glad I added this to the pile.

Hi, I purchased this knife to use when dining out. It cuts vegetables and steak like butter. No more dull steak knives for me! The blade is wide and very sharp, making it a perfect slicer. The handle when open sits above the blade so that you have full blade contact when cutting or chopping. I find this knife is also very useful in my kitchen. I can chop vegetables for meals and remove fat from my meats. As far as the knife goes it's self the fit and finish are outstanding. It also comes with a very nice black case which makes it easy to carry in your pocket.Now what this knife is not: It is not a folding hunter knife. It is not a woodmans knife. It is not a prybar. It is also not to be used for heavy cutting of any kind. Having a very fin blade it would just chip out in wood or any dense material. However, if used for what it is made for it will last you a lifetime of food preparation. Having used knives for over 50 years. I can tell you a lot about knives. In my opinion, anything bad you may have read about this knife needs to be taken with a grain of salt. If you use a knife for what it is not intended for you will always be unhappy. My father taught me to always use the correct tools for the job and your skills and happiness will always be better.

CivSavimakes a good knife. Fit and finish are awesome.Blade is awesome.This one is a little bit on the big side. Extremely sharp& easy to sharpen. The bearings that they use are absolutely top notch knife glides open with barely any pressure. Love this knife have many more other civivis. Bye with confidence.

Best part about it is locking mechanism and size. As far as blade quality it's average.

I did'nt know these existed! I love the size, shape, g-10 color, build, portability, comfort, & ease of use. But for me, it's a little pricey. $85.00 bucks!? Well, there's not many companies I've seen making something this cool. The zippered pouch that comes with it BARELY fits. And stinks, weeks after using dawn soap. (needs cologne) The blade is sharp out of the box, and is'nt too thin or thick. We'll see how durable it is over time. I'm getting another one just like it!

Cool knife. Just wish it had a flipper on the spine to open up. If it had that, it would be the perfect Conversation Piece. But overall, badass knife

As an owner of hundreds of knives of regular to custom built….this is one of the sharpest factory knives ever…I did a lot of research and this was a main positive on this knife…surprising because of large blade…I took an educated gamble and in fact it is scary sharp. It will be a great food prep knife or whatever else you decide to use it for. There are knives costing hundreds of dollars that do not have this excellent factory edge. It’s a little bigger than a normal EDC knife but it is very sharp. Insanely sharp. A very good to excellent steel so edge retention will be long. You can have a “chef” knife in your pocket for food and still have an excellent EDC blade too. HIghly highly recommended!!!
