Well made
Seems well made, blade isn't sharp but looks kind of poorly done along where it would be sharpened. Otherwise the handle is well etched and colored and it seems sturdy. Well worth the cost

Great quality
I use to collect swords as a teen back in the 90s. This one looks and feels just as I remembered.

Great sword for the price.
Obviously not a licensed Highlander sword. But I like it better than the licensed sword I bought 20 years ago. I paid $300.00 for it. This is a better blade. Not happy with the golden tsuba but for 50 bucks....I can't complain. The blade it's self is good quality. Not a real hamon but it is a real sword. Unlike the licenced highlander pos I bought 20 years ago.

Very Impressed!!
This is a great sword. Closest to the Duncan Macleod sword I've seen next to the actual licensed ones that sell $500 and up. The blade being full tang and 1045 carbon steel insted of stainless steel is a major plus! That alone makes this sword worth buying! The only difference you'll notice right away is the red jewel in the center of the Handel, of course that's not on Duncan's sword in the show, it's on Conner's sword. They put it on this one to help hide the tang pin, but I personally think it looks ok. I'm sure if you didn't like it you could remove it and cover the spot up with some paint or something. Rest assured it doesn't interfere with gripping the sword. It comes with a factory edge, but if you'd want to do any cutting practice you need to sharpen it. It looks good as just a display piece as well!

Pointy, sharp, variable quality but worth for it a simple wall-hanger
$50 Katana with a sharp edge? Almost worth it.Arrived Amazon-fast. Heavier than I would have guessed, but I'm used to Rapiers. Overall, the quality is just okay. It's solid and tight in hand, handle feels on the larger side. Gold plating is shiny and clean. Colors on the sculpted handle are vibrant - pretty flashy overall. And the blade comes sharp, though I think it's sharper in some places more than others. It does slice paper. For a decorative wall/hanger for a non-sword enthusiast, it's a great bargain. If you're "into" swords, martial arts and have any outside experience with bladed weapons, you'll be disappointed. Also, at a glance, it looks like the Highlander sword, but it's not actually very screen-accurate; the handle is much larger than the screen used katanas, the tsuba is not the correct design, the blade has a fuller where the on screen katana did not. The bright side is, there's no "china steel" stamped into the blade. There is a Hamon line, but it's brushed in or etched in, not an authentic feature. The particular piece I received was clean and new, however when holding the handle, if I look at the straight line from handle to tip, you can see the blade is bent just slightly to the right just beyond the tsuba. I've toyed with the idea of exchanging it, but for $50, I'm good. There's also a seam line on the top and bottom of the handle left over from the molding process.I wouldn't hesitate to cut matt or pool noodles with this. Or even try some sticks/wood, but seriously as a practical Katana, it's pretty sad. But I understand that's not really the intent of this piece. I have already ordered a screen-accurate tsuba and am working on a more accurate handle to match the katana from the first Highlander. If you remove the paint, or paint the handle Ivory/almond, that will be enough to fool most peoples eyes. True fans for sword users, however will not be fooled. There are more screen accurate Highlander katanas out there, but they are nearly 10x the price of this. This piece is flawed, and you get what pay for - but imo, for $50 this isn't really bad deal, unless you're looking for a practical katana you can confidently cut with, in this case, it's not the sword for you.

There can be only one!
Does not chop heads off like I thought it would, but it’s a great display piece! Long live Duncan McLeod!

Handle misaligned and blade bent.
Had to return.Handle was not aligned with the blade, putting the cutting edge at an angle when holding the handle straight. The blade itself was bent to the right, possibly due to the bad handle assembly. This should not have passed quality control. The handle felt cheap and thin and the sword was pretty blade-heavy. I expected that, but was hoping for quality at least in the assembly.
