An "incredible" book that gives TV Hulk fans everything they could ever want... and more!
BOTTOM LINE: With the continual passing of years, reliable material relating to the old school TV version of the mean green machine has become increasingly scarce. The launch of the modern multi-film billion-dollar MCU franchise juggernaut has put fans between a rock and a hard place, making the specialized search for TV Hulk ONLY-based info even more aggravating. But keep your shirt on and don't get angry at the apparent lack of collected TV Hulk knowledge! Fan-extraordinaire Patrick Jankiewicz's HULK COMPANION smashes its way onto the scene to correct that minor problem forever, with a truly Ferrigno-sized tome of TV Hulk lore! Well organized and thoughtfully laid out, with an exhaustive level of research that would impress even David Banner himself. Rejoice, my fellow kindred spirits! There are more than enough in-depth stories and entertaining information within this beast of a book to please even the most discerning Bixby-Ferrigno/Hulk disciples. No more hitchhiking the back roads, searching desperately for proof positive that stories of a large hulking creature exist. Stop the presses! The Rainbow's End is HERE! 5 STARSTHOUGHTS: I don't think I've ever read a book of this size so quickly. In two days I had gone cover-to-cover. And at 524 pages, that's a Hulk-sized feat, lemme tell ya! There are a small batch of basic TV Hulk facts that are fairly well-known to fans and easily accessed through various websites scattered around the Web. But reliable, accurate *detailed* information on this show has been hard to come by. Until now. My hat is off to the author of this companion book. Pat Jankiewicz has gone above & beyond in his quest to unearth every single detail you could ever want to know about the show and its, stars, crew and production history. He snared all the surviving players in front of and behind the camera, assembling an astonishingly thorough trip through the Universal backlots to bring us all the gamma-powered goods regarding the beloved television series that helped put Marvel on the map, and gave superheroes their first 'serious' shot at mass audiences over the age of 8. Their are some really great stories to be found within these pages and I am sure that even hardcore Hulk fans will gain new insights and gleefully salivate over titillating tidbits that they have never heard or read about anywhere else before.THE BOOK: Softcover, the book is still a hefty piece of literature. Thankfully this is NOT one of those reads that seems impressively thick, only to disappoint once you open the pages and realize that the font size is grade-school huge, meaning your 'massive' book is actually only couple of hundred pages, at best. The print within these covers are pocket paperback-sized, meaning an 'honest' 524 pages, JAM-PACKED with a wealth of good stuff. This IS a Hulk-sized read in every respect. You definitely get your money's worth here. The print is razor sharp and easy to read. Pictures are all black & white although many are of poor quality; a fault of the printers most likely, rather than the author. The writing style is very user-friendly and accessible, yet still intelligent. Jack Magee himself couldn't have done better! On the bad side, there are a handful of spelling errors and the author uses exclamation points to punctuate his sentences far too often. He also gets a few facts concerning the series' timeline and other minor details wrong, but with a work of this size and magnitude I honestly can't fault the man much. Also, Jankiewicz occasionally indulges in divisive opinionated rebuffs, insulting other fantasy/genre-based shows, (like Automan), and declares which episodes of the show are 'good' or 'bad' ...but this IS his book and he is entitled to his opinions. The fact that this guy voluntarily undertook such a thankless, daunting task and actually got it to press is reason enough for me to overlook any shortcomings (and truthfully they are few and far between). In the end, if you love Bill Bixby and The Incredible Hulk TV series then you owe it to yourself to pick up a copy of this book and find a quiet room or some other solitary place to enjoy its treasures. Honestly, no real fan should be without it.*** I was stunned (and more than a little honored) to turn a page and find an old desktop wallpaper I had made using screengrabs from the show over 20 years ago in this book - smack in the middle of page 59!!! I had uploaded it to the old Bryan's Hulk Page bulletin board a million years ago. It obviously broke containment and escaped onto the mainstream web somehow (or maybe Pat frequented those pages and found it?) Anyhow, I showed it to my wife and she laughed and said "Look, Babe! You're famous!" Too bad the quality of it is kinda crummy. Oh well. If you ever read these reviews Mr. Jankiewicz, I just wanted to say "Thanks!" *BLUSH*

Everything I wanted to know about the Hulk TV show and more. the
I loved this book and finished it in about three days. The best part was the chapter on the unfilmed TV movies that were supposed to follow up 1990's "The Death of the Incredible Hulk. The She-Hulk casting sounded like it would work, with Silk Stalkings' Mitzi Kapture as Jennifer Walters and Olympic volleyball star Gabrielle Reece as the emerald Amazon. I think it would have been a mistake to make her skin golden, though! The reviews of each episode are good, as well, as are the ones on the Hulk movies. As the first Marvel Avengers film was in production as the book went to press, we don't get a review of the latest iteration of The Hulk, but this is a great record of the Green Goliath's big footprint on TV and pop culture in general.

The Ultimate Hand Guide To All Incredible Hulk Fans!
Until a month ago, I had no idea this book even existed! I knew of Lou Ferrigno's book, "My Life As The Incredible Hulk" but I never knew this book was even made. I was looking around on Kenneth Johnson's website and saw that there was mention of a Hulk Companion book. I clicked on the link and it brought me here to Amazon where I saw nothing but terrific reviews about the book, so I happily forked $30.00 for it!Patrick A. Jankiewicz wonderfully puts together this 500+ page Hulk bible that's every Hulk fans' personal hand guide to the legend of the Hulk. The book starts off with a nice foreword from the Hulk himself, Lou Ferrigno! It then transitions over to numerous pages telling how the Hulk was born, how thoughts for the classical tv show came about and so much more. Throughout this book, you'll find a lot of rare, never before seen photos as well as biographies on the main characters and stars from episodes, which is a bonus for this companion! The reader is also treated to a walk-through of the series which gives readers a walk-through of each episode, Banner's alias in that episode, and comments from Lou Ferrigno, Kenneth Johnson, and some of the stars who played on the show. In addition to that we also get a walk-through of the 3 made for tv movies, the cartoon show, and the 2 Hulk films made in 2003 and 2008.One of my favorite parts about this book is how they mention The Rebirth of The Incredible Hulk, which was a planned film following Death of the Incredible Hulk but didn't happen due to Bixby's death. They also give us a full plot analysis on a She-Hulk pilot movie that involving Bill and Lou but also never happened.Overall, this is a great book for anyone who is a fan of the Hulk. Patrick doesn't sell this book short of anything and gives the fans everything they could ever dream of. Enjoyable beginning to end, it's hard to put down. As a fan of the show since I was 6 years old, this book definitely tops off my Hulk collection! I even re-watched the entire series from the Pilot to Death, while reading this. Bill Bixby is my idol and to read through chapters of his life on and off screen of the Hulk, his struggles, and overcoming those struggles, it really inspires me even more. If you've been searching high and low for an "Incredible" guide to the Hulk, look no more! You Wouldn't Like Me When I'm Angry is your bible for everything you want to need and know about the show and Hulk's history!

Hulk book
I am loving this book, its very nostalgic and fun to read the behind the scenes activities with the cast and crew. I was also pleased that it was a hardback, as it will be well read and i would like it to look good as new each time i thumb through.

Excellent, detailed read.
A superb book on all things Hulk. By far the best book I have ever read on him. Thought I was well informed about the show but soon realised I wasn't. This is the ideal companion for the show.My only complaint would be that there isn't enough on Jack Colvin or his character. A shame for such a vital ingredient of the show. Also, the end of the show isn't given enough detail and the final 3 movies are skirted over too.But overall a fantastic read.
