Very practical chainsaw, comes in a nice bag. It’s not too big or heavy which is ideal for storage.

I have a large lot with lots of trees and shrubs, whereas, I am continuously pruning. I typically use a number of hand tools including, lopping shears, various types and sizes of hand pruners, telescoping pruners, and a cordless hedge pruner. However, I have found that pruning with hand tools has been taking a toll on both my shoulders and rotator cuffs. UGH!I have never felt comfortable using a full-size chain saw as they kick back, are dangerous, and heavy. So when I saw this 4" mini-chain saw with two batteries I ordered it ASAP. The size is perfect for my needs and I only need one hand to operate it because it's lightweight, with no kick back. And it easily fits into small spaces.Prior to receiving it, I posted two questions to the company about it needing oil and the location of the reservoir, but never received any responses. So after I received this mini-chainsaw, I read through the entire manual two times and oiling the chain wasn't mentioned at all. Yet a small plastic bottle is included in the kit for oil and I know all chainsaws must be oiled with bar-chain oil. This is also not mentioned in the listing, which seemed rather odd to me.Next, I brought the entire case with all components to the cabin and had a couple others read through the manual to see if I missed something, or that maybe this mini-chainsaw didn't need oil as part of new technology. The conclusion was that yes, the chain does indeed need to be oiled, but it would have to be oiled by hand vs. having a oil tank that keeps it automatically lubricated. While it seems simple enough to oil the chain, I've never done it before and don't know how often it should be done either.This oil issue makes me want to take off two stars because it should be clearly addressed in the manual, as well in the listing, along with that my questions should have been answered once posted. But after using this mini-chainsaw, I decided that I really like it. It seamlessly cut cleanly through various types of branches up to 2" thick with no kick back. However, I haven't used it yet on anything thicker so can't speak about that. But what I can say, is that it has made my yard work a lot easier and is much easier on my body.Price wise, I think this set is a good value due to having two batteries that can be charged through the adapter. And it also comes with everything needed safety wise, along with an additional chain. But this company seriously needs to update both their manual and listing to match the product to ensure the user knows how to operate it properly, what type of oil is needed, along with instructions of applying and frequency of directly applying oil on the chain.Their listing also has inconsistencies about the motor type. In one area it says its an upgraded 450 watt pure copper brushless motor, then below that it states it is a high efficiency copper brush motor.This company even states: At X-GOLD, we believe in the importance of listening. Every piece of feedback from our valued customers is a stepping stone towards excellence. So I guess we'll see if they truly do listen and make the necessary changes necessary for a great experience when using this product.

The Devonic cordless chainsaw kit makes a great gift. The moment that I opened the shipping box I was impressed. There was an inner sleeve holding the carrying case and inside the carrying case was the chainsaw, a spare chain, goggles, a pair of gloves, a wrench, an empty chain oil bottle, a power adapter charger, and not one, but TWO batteries! After a couple of hours of charging one of the batteries you are good to go. [Yes, I have better quality gloves and other items that I will use however if you are new to the chainsaw gang then you have all that you need to join the fray.]Okay, this is not my first time opening a box with a new toy (necessary tool). I already have a Worx and Sun Joe mini chainsaw. I decided that I needed the Devonic chainsaw because it had a six-inch chain. The Worx and Sun Joe chainsaws have a five-inch chain – five-inch chains are not as ubiquitous as four-inch or six-inch chains and therefore costs an arm and a leg.I also justified this purchase of the Devonic chainsaw because I had a giant tree fall on my property and I had been chewing through five-inch chains like crazy. Enter the Devonic chainsaw. I immediately put it to use after I fully juiced up one of the batteries, filled the oil bottle with chainsaw oil, put oil on the Devonic chain and headed out to the long-felled tree. I decided that I was not going to baby the new addition to my chainsaw family and challenged it to take on six-inch branches.I learned that the Devonic chainsaw did not have the torque speed of the Worx or the Sun Joe. (The Worx is the more powerful of these two but they are the costars of this review so I will stop here in describing these two saws.) The Devonic chainsaw ran a bit hot, the battery was a bit hot, and there was some stoppage but none of these issues slowed my roll.The good news is that the Devonic chainsaw passed my test. It is good for hard jobs which is good because I have no mini jobs. I have a property with over one hundred natural and planted trees – several over one hundred feet tall – and there is always something falling or that needs to be done. I think that the Devonic has the build quality to hang around with me for a while.A five-star product … loving it!Hmmm, … I was just thinking … I wonder whether my neighbors will think that my yellow DEVONIC 6-Inch cordless chainsaw is a DeWALT chainsaw.
