They have a scary enough face where my little ones think that they are brave, but up close, they are cute enough where they won't actually scare my children. I like the battery pack which allows these to be placed anywhere. We decided to put them on our stairs going up, so the kids can see them first thing in the morning. On Halloween night we will hang them on our trees outside. These were really really cute. Definitely a great value for the money spent. They are bright enough to see them clearly, even during the day. I did take a hair dryer to mine to soften up the creases, and after you fluff them up a bit they look like good enough quality for a few years of use.

There are only a few LED in them and they are not overly bright but still the batteries died in less than one night. I had them on slow flash to conserve power but they died in a few hours.
