Review
The tent is very compact and lightweight! I am excited to try this out on my next backpacking trip! I will see how it fares with rain and/or condensation buildup inside. Planning to waterproof it further if needed.

Great priced lightweight tent!
I set this up in my backyard to see how it works and to compare it to the River Country Products Trekker Tent 1 I have. I felt like the 1V had more room inside the tent, and I love that it comes in two pieces, so that in good weather I can keep the fly off to enjoy the starry night, mountain breeze, etc. The tent was easy to set up and the fly seemed to fit okay. It seemed like it was just barely covering the mesh areas on the sides and back, so if it became really stormy, rain might be able to enter the tent, but I don't know for sure yet. If I get an opportunity to test it in the wind and rain, I'll update my review. When compared to the Trekker 1, here are my pros and cons:1V PROS1. the 1V is overall lighter when accounting for stakes, bag and guide lines2. roomier inside the tent, I'm 6'1" and had plenty of room to stretch out or curl up3. option to add or remove rain fly is great!4. only requires 8 stakes vs. 95. better ventilation in the 1V, even with the fly on1V CONS1. potential for rain fly to allow water in during a bad storm2. requires 2 trekking poles instead of 1, not a show-stopper since I hike with two poles3. vestibule is smaller than the Trekker 1, but still had room for my pack and shoesOverall, both tents are probably the lightest tents you can find for the price. Like the Trekker 1, the 1V is well-made, sturdy, and comfortable. I didn't have any issues folding it into a compact roll to pack away. I am really happy with my purchase and as always, I am confident that if any issues arise, River Country Products will provide fast and friendly customer service!Update: I wanted to add an update on the tent and customer service. When setting it up I noticed one of the grommets to hold the trekking pole in place was sewn on upside down. I contacted RCP to make sure that was the case and I wasn't just setting it up wrong. Turns out it was a defect and they had a replacement tent on the way the same day. I received the new tent very quickly, River Country Prodcts is a top notch company, I will buy their products again!

The best cheap solo tent
There are a few better solo tents, but prices start at 3 times the price of this one. Although the seam are taped on the inside, it is a good idea to seal them outside as well. The larger fly, added in November 2020, keeps water out of the screen roof. The large fly brings the weight, with stakes, to 2 lb 14 oz. The screen roof is large enough to prevent condensation inside the tent on a rainy night. Condensation will collect on the inside of the vestibule. The tent can be pitched with the 8 stakes provided. 3 more stakes make it possible to pitch the front of the fly independently, increasing usable vestibule space. If I need to cook in the vestibule I use a carabiner to clip one side of the vestibule 1/4 open for ventilation while retaining rain protection. A small isobutane stove can be used inside the 1/4 open vestibule. I have also used an Esbit alcohol cookset in the vestibule, but that is tricky. I would not try to use an alcohol cookset that did not have a fitted pot support and fitted pots. Gasoline or methenamine (solid fuel) would be out of the question. One needs to extend the front trekking pole as far as the tent will permit if one wants to sit up in the front of the tent. It's a good idea to pitch the tent on arrival at the campsite, cook dinner, and then fiddle with getting a taut pitch of this tent. The tent material feels pretty durable. I expect a grandchild will inherit it.

What a great tent
After shopping heavily for a backpacking tent, I choose this tent. The reasons are simple, light weight, easy to erect, and waterproof. After it arrived I set it up. The first thing i noticed is the quality on the stitch work and seam tape. The zippers are smooth, ropes are attached and it was easy to understand the set up process. My trekking poles and the tent matched very well. The next thing, rain, it rained for two days after I set it up. It wasn't a rain storm it was a soaking rain. The water bead up and rolled off. The inside, dry. Then I slept in it. I had no condensation. It was cool night after warm day. Overall I have already started recommending the river country Trekker tent 1V to my backpacking friends.

Perfect backpacking tent
Tent is easy to setup, and at the same time somewhat adjustable - say if you need the rain fly to come lower for more rain protection than ventilation. I love that this model allows the rain fly to be removed completely - because you know most night you're camping you've checked the weather - and want to see the stars while also not having to swat away bugs! But it's super easy to apply the rain fly in case the rain does come. The tapered shape is perfect. Seems like they put a lot of thought and effort into optimizing the interior to give you space where it's most needed. As seen in my pictures, if I lie down with my head in the center and touching the entrance pole, then my feet have about a foot of space to spare - I'm just under 6'. and there is enough shoulder room. Last pic is of a baby carseat at the bottom of the tent, for perspective. The roof is high enough also to allow for easy movement inside. I've seen it though snow and rainstorms. Definitely intent to get many more nights in it.

Floor leaks after first use. Poor quality.
The waterproof coatung on the floor appears to have broken down after first use so first shower of rain and inside tent full of water. Not happy with product.
