Disappointing Pictures
I just ordered this book for my preschooler. Yes, I know that the book is targeted to elementary school children. The text does seem accessible and informative but the pictures are uninspired. None of them are actual photographs, none of them show diagrams or interesting views. The drawings are very simplistic and thoroughly uninspiring. I mean come on - it's a book about the worlds tallest buildings - it should be packed full of breathtaking imagery.I do not recommend this book. I wish I could find a copy of the fabulous book they have at my son's school but it's out of print.

Excellent book for ages 9-12
Contrary to the previous reviewer, I thought this book was excellent. The audience is upper-elementary to middle school, not preschool (recommended ages 9-12). It brings in architectural theory as well as the history of the buildings. The book was written post-9-11, so there is discussion of the WTC tragedy. Excellent read, with deeper information than most. My children were captivated.
