POLAPO 330895 Stop G Scale Building Kit, Breakpoint Hammer Stone, Not Specified, Small

I was impressed with how easily the kit was assembled to make a good satisfying modelI have made many kits in my lifetime (I am now 76), and I had nearly given up, due to problems of old age, e.g. Glaucoma. I still do my best assembling rolling stock as well as building kits. This kit has given me the confidence to go on.

I have come to the conclusion that manufacturers of true G scale items (1:22.5) seem to think they can charge what they like and, to be honest, I would have sent the kit back had it not been purchased with gift vouchers. Firstly Pola tell you to use only their (very expensive) special cement. Well I didn't - instead I used my normal polystyrene cement and it worked fine so don't waste your money. The second thing you will notice is the distinct absence of people. Despite the illustration, they are extra so I would suggest buying a pack of 1:25 people from Amazon. (Those in the photos came with my LGB starter set) as true 1:22.5 people will cost you a fortune.The parts were all numbered and and the graphical instructions relatively easy to follow. However I found that some of the parts differed from the picture eg. the station name board is shown as hanging but it was free standing and had to be modified to make it hanging. There were other parts included of which there was no mention in the instructions. The seat in the waiting area consists of 3 pieces but 4 are provided in case you want to make it LH or RH. I modified the 4th piece to make a seat outside. The kit also came with an excellent collection of self adhesive posters, most being in German but they still look good. A word of warning though - you can get far cheaper products advertised a G Scale but they are usually 1:30 or 1:32 scale and look pretty small against the 'real thing' so, if you want to keep things authentic, be prepared to have pretty deep pockets.
