We bought this for our poodle. His coat is thick and curly. It works great and can work for a long time. Definitely worth the money.

Worst dog clipper I have ever used. I have a yorkie/silky terrier mix and this clipper just chops and pulls at the fine hair on my dog. I bought this in February and this is only the second time I have used it on my dog and it is absolutely terrible.

I actually use these for my husband's hair, and they work great. The cord is thick and sturdy. It isn't going to wear down any time soon. With the cheaper clippers I used before, I would go over his hair many times, and would still find rogue long hairs for a weeek. It was really frustrating. These have cut down on the amount of hairs that get missed, and I don't have to many as many passes over his hair. They are standard size and fit nicely in my hand. They are also quieter than my other clippers, so they would help if a dog (or child) has issues with loud noises. I cannot speak to coarser hair types that some dogs may have, but these work good on straight hair.

The clipper didn’t come with the guard number 2, which I use a lot. I have never bought clippers that didn’t come with that guard.

I bought a Wahl hair clipper for my own head back in 2015 for half the price that I bought this unit. It continues to work great, so I bought these clippers for our dog. When I initially bought it, the reviews were much better. However, I see that other's agree with my assessment. These clippers do not cut well and simply do not have even near the power of the previous Wahl clippers I have bought.

I bought these clippers for use on a goldendoodle. I chose them, in part, because they were chorded and described as “high power,” as I know a goldendoodle’s coat is not the easiest. They were completely useless on his coat, unable to barely cut his hair. It literally would have taken all day.I then switched to the cheaper Wahl hair clippers for humans that I use on myself, and they worked great. I am apparently past the return date, which is on me, but I am extremely frustrated given how expensive these clippers were. I assumed they would be heavier duty and more effective on a thicker coat than my cheaper human hair clippers; they are not even remotely close.
