I already had a small handheld tool similar to this and use it on my cat trees. It's super effective but not very practical for rugs. This came quickly and was well packaged. It went together easily and felt pretty sturdy. I only used it on a small part of an area rug right after I vacuumed and you can see that it did remove more cat hair. It works best the more pressure you use - so I found myself gripping lower and lower on the pole to pull up even more. That kind of defeats the purpose of the long pole and it's why I only gave it 4 stars. It still pulls up hair and makes the rugs look better - even without bending over. The small plastic tool they included as a bonus didn't really work on any of the fabrics I used it on.

I ordered the "Carpet Rake for Pet Hair Removal with 60″ Long Handle, 1 Mini Carpet Scraper Included, Reusable Dog Cat Hair Remover Brush for Fluff Carpet, Rug, Car Mat and Couch."As I stated in the headline, this long handled carpet scraper doesn't really work with my shag carpet, but I think it'll work just fine with other types of carpet.The handheld mini scraper works on our couch without issues.
