Not Mexican Bird of paradise seeds
I received about 50 tiny seeds. As mentioned by other reviewers, these are not the right seed. It took so long to arrive that I had actually forgotten that I ordered them. I was suspicious to open the package at first as the package had Chinese writings. When I saw reviewers state that you had to scar them, I was like, HOW? these things are tiny. I decided to put them in at different areas on the property without much care. To my surprise, whatever this is started sprouting within about 72 hours. ALL OF THEM. I have some that are already about 24 inches tall. On the negative side, I don't know what it is. It may just be a weed. Time will tell. I will update with a picture once they bloom.Update: Here is a picture of what finally bloomed. They are white and redish blooms. Not Mexican Bird of Paradise. It is my understanding that this is a Cosmos plant.

Good germination rate
Seeds came on time. I was able to sprout them by first using a piece of sandpaper to scarify them and then putting a few of them between a wet paper towel, once they sprouted I planted them in soil. I also tried planting the seed directly in soil and that method did not work.

Pretty scary
You would do your customers a huge favor if in the information section of the details you informed us this product was coming from China. I had no idea this was the case. Not only did it take forever but the packaging indicated that it was “a bead”. I knew I hadn’t ordered a bead so was somewhat skeptical of what was inside. Then this week in the USA TODAY as well on the national news networks they were warning of seeds being sent from CHINA that they felt were unsafe. I threw the package away and will never order anything of the like again. I am a loyal customer and order often from Amazon. Always give great reviews and this has been a real bummer. Thanks for listening.

Wrong Seeds!
I ordered seeds for the RED bird of paradise, and unlike many of the other negative reviewers, every seed produced a healthy plant. I had more plants than space so I gave the extras away. Once I put the plants in the ground, they all thrived, but when I finally got my first blossoms, they were yellow. Somehow I was sent the yellow bird of paradise seeds. The plant is pretty, but not spectacular like the red BOP. Since it took a long time from seed to flower, I am very disappointed.

Scam
Wrong plants. I ordered Red Birds of Paradise. I have been growing them for a couple months and something didn’t seem right. We used a plant identifier app and learned we have black locust trees now. I did more research and confirmed they are black locusts. It upsets me even more to find out they are poisonous. Luckily my dog didn’t eat them.

DO NOT BUY FROM VENDOR
I hate being deceived. The seeds I received are pictured on the right side...small black seeds. They are not red bird of paradise seeds. What they should look like are pictured on the left...large and brown. It didn't cost much so not worth a refund. Now Im stuck with seeds I cant identify. Maybe what sprouts will be a good surprise but I doubt it. The vendor should not be allowed to do business on Amazon!
