Cerwin Vega Pro Cv-1800 1800-Watt High-Performance Professional Power Amplifier (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

I have been looking for the right audio hub or hubs (AVR, AVR+Power Amp combo or Preamp+Power Amp combo)to power my New Polk Audio RTiA7's. My old Audio Hub was a Nad seperates rack consisting of a Nad 1155 preamp, tuner and 2200 Power Amp tied to a couple of Bose 301's.So here is the story; I tried all the popular 110 watt min AVR's (5 total), The final AVR I purchased and kept (Pioneer Elite VSX-52) I connected alone to the Polks then tried from the Nad 2200 using the VSX-52's preouts. I kept the Pioneer and then purchase the Cerwin Vega CV-1800 mainly because of brand reputation, power output and AB class. Paired with the Pioneer it sounded great but still wasn't feelin it.People if you buy the CV-1800 use a seperates preamp (I used my 25 year old Nad 1155) because that amp and a dedicated preamp made my speakers come to life with such robust clarity and detail. And trust me when I say!!!YOU WILL FEEL THE BEAT!!!. Oh and thats at just 50% output gain on the amp.I listen to Hiphop, Dance, Jazz and Latin music to name a few so I needed the right setup to accomodate all the genre types Ilisten too. I also watch a wide varity of movies (action, scifi , drama etc...).Build quality of this amp is top notch (Its a beauty) and for the price its a real real steal.Only 1 issue: I find the fans are a little noticable at very low volumes but I guess it depends on how far away you are from it. I am 9 to 10 feet from the front of amp that sits in an open back entertainment center under my 42 inch. The 2 Polks sit 10 to 12 inches away on either side.BUY!!! BUY!!! BUY!!!You won't be disappointed.....

I'm pushing 2 Cerwin Vegas Int 152s and a pair of 12 Clcs and it sounds great.Quite disappointed with customer service at Cerwin Vega. Unable to answer basic and fundamental questions reagrding setting up this 2 Channel amp to run my 4 speakers. In any event the amp is able to push both pairs with clarity and without distortion. The amp is heavier than it looks. 40 lbs. Whew!The blue display lights are cool. They are not orange as displayed on many photos.

Paid 400 and couldn't even receive the cords I need to Hook it up like it wasn't enought to pay a s*** ton and not be able to use it

Not sure if I got a bad amp but after connecting amp to my Pioneer elite receiver with a 1/4 inch TS to RCA Pro Stereo Interconnect Cable to myh cerwin vega AT15 speakers, I could not hear a difference. I used the preamp outputs on the stereo receiver and adjusted speaker setting to max output on receiver. Speakers were just as loud with the Pioneer. I understand I need 10x power to be twice as loud but I thought I would get more cone excursion/bass with 400W/channel vs 120/channel. Speakers are rated at 300w so 400w should easily push these harder.Could the voltage from receiver using TS adapter be part of the issue? I have turned the volume max on the front of the amp and I just dont hear the difference using the amp. I'm going to try another input device and if no improvement will look to return this amp or use this amp in bridge mode to power my two 15 sub cabinets.. It weighs a ton so I'm sure i will take a loss on this if I have to ship back.I'm confused for all the reviews for this said it pushed the hell out of the cerwin speakers. Thinking I should have purchased the CV2800. If any of you ran into this problem and can offer a solution much appreciated.

Gibson product.. you won't get warranty to do anything for you.. don't buy GIBSON brand.. Made in China

Vega rocks! I have tried other amps and was not at all happy with them. Take this amp and the cls 215 or the xls 215 and rock the house. I own all denon and vega equipment all over my house and will never consider anything else unless someone can compete and so far that has not happened.

Great amplifier! I have 2 xls-215 ' s and my house is rockin'....literally!
