Very nice hat. I usually wear a lg and the lg fit fine but definitely wasn't loose. You can tighten the band inside for a snugger fit. The lanyard worked fine but the hook kept coming loose on one side and then both sides finally came off altogether somewhere and I lost it so watch for that. Otherwise a nice hat for sun protection and I got a few compliments on it while on vacation.

> UPDATE: I've now worn the hat on 5 cruises, and 2 other trips (requiring the hat to be packed 14 times in a suitcase), and it has survived quite well. Just fold the brim down and then flatten the crown sideways. I also use it outdoors when I'm not traveling. I've worn the hat for about 100 days, total, and it still looks good. Cool even on hot days. Survived several rain showers.> Looks great. Surprisingly great -- better than a hat I returned to Amzn which cost twice as much. I've actually been complimented by other travelers who liked the hat. I admit though, that I've seen a few handsomer (much more expensive) straw hats --- but you have to buy those in hat stores and actually try them on.> Just a bit shiny and plastic looking --- but not objectionable (actual straw hats are often shinier when new). The material is nominally plasticized paper, but you'd never know, and it is durable and reasonably waterproof.> Light weight.> Moderately tight (or moderately loose -- depending on your perspective) weave. Air permeable --- reasonably cool even in 95 degrees in Italy in August. This is a summer hat, it won't hold much warmth in cooler weather. Obviously, water permeable too, so not a rain hat.BONUS !!! -- includes removable, adjustable, neck strap. I agonized between this and another similar hat which came with neckstrap --- because I knew that I'll need a neckstrap for walking around the deck on a cruise ship. I had planned to add a home-made neckstrap to this hat. BUT I DIDN'T NEED TO !! -- it came with an adjustable, removable neck strap. Unfortunately, in actual use, the neckstrap does not stay attached, and is difficult to reattach---because the fasteners are plastic open double-hooks. On a cruise, ultimately I had to cover the fasteners with a 1 1/4" length of 1" wide surgical tape--which worked well. Back home, I replaced the fasteners with half-inch diameter split rings --- which work very well, although detaching the neckstrap would be time consuming. If I don't want the neckstrap showing, I just place the neckstrap in the crown of the hat before putting it on. Snap hooks would work too, and would be easily dettacheable/reattacheable.> UPDATE: It looks like they have replaced the model I purchased with a version w/o a neckstrap --- at least according to the photos --- but you might be pleasantly surprised.

I wanted a good sun hat that was cool, comfortable and packable for travel. This hat fits the bill perfectly. The hat folds flat--but retains it's sturdy shape when you unfold it.I bought several hats to compare, and even though this was the least expensive, it was also the best. Solidly made (not flimsy like some others), and soft, comfortable inner sweatband. The narrow hatband is made of synthetic suede--with perfect stitching. Also, because it comes in multiple sizes you can choose the one that's the best fit for your head.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Great hat and it’s adjustable

I purchased four hats to compare because I could not decide – Lanzom Wide Brim Straw, Pineapple&Star Sun Straw Fedora, Catrin Faldon Palm Straw Panama, and Meximart Mexican Palm Leaf Straw Indiana. The Lanzom and P&S are both soft paper panama hats. The Catrin and Meximart are rigid palm leaf hats.The Lanzom was the “floppiest” of them all. The brim was not rigid enough for me and had “waves” in it. It also sat very high on the head due to a deep crown. I didn’t care for the way it felt; like it was too small even though it wasn’t. It was the least formal-looking of all the hats because of the lack of form to it. The plus is that this is the only one that might survive in a suitcase. There have been reviews about it being crushed on arrival. Mine was not. It was packed in a box and arrived in good shape. It could’ve been that I ordered other items, so it was packed in a box instead of an envelope. That may be the key to ensuring that the hat comes unsquashed.The Pineapple&Star was the best packaged of all the hats with a cardboard frame for the brim. It looks more formal than the Lanzom because the brim is sturdier and flat without any waves. It’s not floppy at all. It also has a deep crown so it sits high on the head like the Lanzom. Other than that, the only problem with the P&S is that it’s very round. It did not fit well, with big gaps on each side of my oval head. It did come with foam spacers, but all the other hats fit much better without any modifications.The Catrin fit very well and is a very nice hat. The only issue I had with it is a personal preference. I did not like the brim turned up in the back. If you like that, this would be a good choice. It’s heavier and much more rigid than the two paper straw hats, but it’s not uncomfortable. The upside is that it won’t have any problems in heavy rain.My personal favorite was the Meximart. It’s comfortable, fits very well, and has a wider brim than the others. That’s also the downside, however, if you’re looking for a more formal appearance. The brim is much wider than the others and will keep the sun off better than the others, but it looks more like a beach or yard hat, not formal enough for what I was looking for. I liked the style of it better than the others, though. This would be my choice for a sun hat in more casual situations.

This hat is great. I like the comfort and the style. The material 👌 holds well. I got it wet in the rain and the hat held its form. The price is right.

When the hat arrived, I was disappointed because it was too big. Then I found out I could adjust it! Great hat and cool on my head. Looks good and wears well. Nice hat!!

Very Happy with Hat

The hat came in a totally FLAT plastic bag where it was stuck for over a month. It was completely deformed when I opened it - with permanent creases. Misshapen and gnarled. Terribly unacceptable and will have to be returned.

Adjustable fitting. Great value and arrived super quick.
