What I Love About You, Mom Hardcover – March 26, 2013

I had a lot of fun filling this out. It helped me reflect on how much my mom has done for me, and all the ways she has shaped who I am. I spent about a month filling this out and gave it to her for Mother's Day. She loved it. She cried. I am officially her favorite child.I liked that this book allowed for a good mix of sappy moments and funny moments. My mom is both the loving, caring type AND my hilarious best friend. Some prompts lend themselves to recounting funny inside jokes and memories, while others were the perfect moment to let her know just how much I appreciate her love and support.There were several sections that called for drawing. I suck at drawing. I do not like to draw. It worked anyway. I used a mix of silly doodles and pasted in family photos, and it worked out just fine despite my initial unease with the drawing portions.I live on the opposite side of the world for my mom, and her life has been rough lately. She told me recently that when she's lonely or sad she looks through this book and it makes her feel like I'm at home. Definitely what I was going for.This review has been a bit rambly. Clearly I am not an eloquent writer. But the guided prompts in this book helped me make something my mom truly cherishes, so I think that's a good enough reason for you to buy it.

Okay, so for the person purchasing this, be informed that it will take a while to fill this whole book out! But believe me, it will be worth it...my mom was absolutely thrilled to get this for mother's day. She pored over every page and, since it was a group gift that each kid (ranging in age from 18-38) in my family picked up and filled out on their own copy of, she had so many memories and pictures nicely compiled. It took me an entire rainy day to fill it out properly but it was so, so worth it. It works for sons and daughters and there are even a few entries that apply if you are now a parent yourself (but not so many that it throws of the tone of the book/feels awkward if you don't have kids yet.) The fact that it's a nice hardcover makes it seem more suitable as a gift and not cheaply made. Take your time, enjoy finding some photos, mementos, and memories to fill it with, and you'll have really nice, personal gift for a mom in your life.

Got this for my mom's 44th birthday. There's a lot to this little book. Some things are repeated with different wording, but still really adorable and heartfelt. Probably best for someone older, maybe in their late 20's. I'm 19 and it had me answer questions about children and marriage, but it also gave me the option to say "what I would think" or "what I would like" for the future instead. Really nicely made and even has a section in the back for other loved ones to write their own little notes. :) Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the repeated questions and the strictness to who can use this. I would not recommend this to anyone under 18. All in all a great purchase and I really think she will love it.

I bought this a few months ago to write for a Mother's Day gift. Like other reviewers, this book takes time to fill out. I made sure to order it far in advance so I could put thought and time into it. I did a page or two most days until I completed it. I also put a bunch of pictures in it for her, personal quotes, memories. These things all took time to make it heart felt and sentimental. I mailed it to her and am excited to find out what she thinks! I think she will be very surprised.

I bought this as a gift for my mother for Christmas.The prompts were pretty standard but there was room to improvise, draw, & add pictures which I thought was neat.It took some time and thinking to fill it out.Quite a few "children" prompts all bunched together in the middle which prompted my mom to ask if I was pregnant even though I had left those prompts blank. o.OOverall - I thought it was a great idea and a gem.Very unique and lovely way to personalize your gift.

Wrote this for my mom for Christmas. It had her laughing and crying all at the same time. She adores it and it took some real thought and time to complete it but seeing her reaction. Was worth it! Definitely meant for adult daughters to give to their moms.

My mother absolutely loved this! It took me a few days to complete. I do wish I had more time to put into it but it still turned out awesome! Some pages are hard to come up with ideas but it’s a very unique and thoughtful gift, would recommend!

A very thoughtful gift to get. It takes a little effort and thoughtfulness to complete it but it's bound to pull your mothers heart strings. Some of the pages and questions are a little silly/pointless but overall very thorough and brings you both down memory lane. I would have given it 4 stars but it made my mom shed a tear so how could I not give it full plate?! Highly recommend!

I gave this to my mom and she loved it. I spent weeks filling it out, which brought back memories and a few tears.When she read through it it did the same.They need to make one for dads next.

I bought this book for Mother's Day and I love it! I know Mum will too.This book provides thought provoking prompts for entries such as, "you are strong or unique in this way because..." or "this is a wonderful gift, tradition or lesson you passed on to your grandchildren..." or "Okay, you were right, I should..."There is also plenty of space provided around the entry space for hand-drawn, computer generated graphics and/or photographs. The book is also a hardcover which to my thinking, lends it plenty of durability.I enjoyed filling this book out - remembering certain things from the past that I hadn't thought of in a while. It's a great recollection for both the giver and receiver.I recommend this book to anyone looking for a way to say, "Thanks, Mum".

This book is wonderful. Exactly what I was looking for to give my mother. Perfect questions to guide you through the process and perfect amount of space to write everything you want to. This book also has some spots for pictures if you want to add them, or for your mother to add. My mother will cherish this book once I have filled it out.

This is such a cute devoted gift to give to your mom!
