"Impulse Blanket Purchase Spawns Massive Review!!"
(Long, but informational, review .... Prepare for boredom at your own risk)I've turned into a blankie-holic and something about this one caught my eye ...Because it was $13 for the Mineral variety I chose that one.(Not my first choice in color, I was specifically choosing for price point, but I also *do* like this color.... I didn't just purchase ANY color simply because it was a $13 blanket. .... Figured I could always come back for another color at a higher price if I really liked this first one)Anyway.1) Mine DID NOT have a weird smell when it came out of the bag. The '''manufacturer bag''' it came in was essentially a shipping bag. These bags are not impregnable to scents, so I imagine the scent that's attached to any given blanket could vary a lot depending on where it's been stored prior to shipping to you. This packaging seems to indicate that the blankets were originally purchased "naked" and that the company selling them to us "re-packaged" the nakey-as-is-blankets in this particular "shipping bag".They weren't made in China, so that could be why they're originally not packaged up in that familiar clear plastic bag we're all accustomed to.When checkout-time was upon me, I chose to have the blanket shipped inside Amazon packaging (instead of leaving it on "ships in manufacturer's packaging) to hide what's inside, and I think that's a wise option in this scenario. (The manufacturers' bag just isn't very protective and though I didn't know that when purchasing, there are only a few items I don't change the packaging on)-------- ALL THAT BEING SAID, wash the blanket before use. Hopefully the appropriate wash rids your blanket of the scent it rode in on. Haha. That should be standard practice ✅2) Speaking of washing, after opening and inspecting and deciding I liked what I'd purchased, I set about washing it. I washed it on a gentle cycle, with a pre-soak, by itself, on my "tap cold" temperature setting. When I took it out to transfer to the dryer, I shook it loose first and there **was** a lot of fuzziness fluffing about. Lol. As the item didn't mention anywhere that it came **pre-washed**, I expected this from a cotton garment.I saw someone's "helpful" review about there being a lot of fuzz all over their black clothing transferred over from their blanket and I imagine they likely didn't wash it first. Having washed mine (and dried on the lowest heat setting in the dryer) I see a normal amount of material loose about on it, and none of it is transferring like their photo showed. Soooo......🧐3). It's 50" x 60" --- that's a pretty standard-sized throw blanket. The size is given in multiple locations on this page.4). It's made in India, if anyone wants to know. Maybe a company in China purchases items like these and it's the one to sell them to whomever to sell to us here on Amazon, but the original garment is from India. (I haven't verified the sellers location; I'm just hypothesizing)5). It's 100% Cotton. Kind of a rarity these days (although actually *not* a rarity from a lot of garments from India). It's not scratchy, it's not rough, and it's also not a synthetic fiber processed to be the softest blanket you'll ever touch.I'm autistic, and if this blanket had any typical sensory issues about it then this review would be a lot shorter: " Autistic female here; this blanket personally isn't neurodivergent-friendly to me and I will be returning, but it looks to be a decent blanket for someone else". That's all it would say. (And for the right person that would be an amazing review!!)6). Will it snag? Will a thread pull loose?Sure!!! Or maybe not, I don't know your blanket habits. Maybe you're wanting to put it in a shadow box on the wall, and if so....I think that's pretty awesome. It's not a tight-woven pattern. This company sells other variations of this blanket (that you can find on this page to link up to the other product/blanket pages), each with a different thread pattern... Some patterns are more prone to pull and snag than others. I'd say this is a "medium-level". I suspect I'll have to fix up a thread or two, or twenty, over the lifetime of my owning this blanket.... I don't mind in this case. (Again, $13 😉). And since knitting or threading or weaving, or whatever, is beyond my skill-set, and because my discretionary funds won't allow for the purchase of a much pricer "less snaggy" all-cotton woven blankie.... I'm at the mercy of having to accept that a lot of the throw blankets I procure will need some "editing".The last thing I'll say is also related to the threading.....7). I included a photo of this aspect, and I'm not sure many people would notice or care about this, but....I like the closed-off edges on this blanket. THAT is something small that can go a long way toward maintaining a "doesn't completely snag apart" vibe.(Although again, if your blanket habits include a lot of things that are "snaggy", these sealed-off-like sides likely won't do much)Anyway, I like those sides a lot! 😁Ok a scale of prosciutto to thick Christmas Dinner Ham cuts, I'd say this blanket is just below medium thickness. As for warmth??? Ummm.....I wouldn't take it on an artic voyage, and I wouldn't snuggle up in it on an outdoor August picnic in St. Louis .... But..... It really depends on what warmth factor you're personally trying to obtain from a 50"x60" throw blanket. (Again, it's not a tightly woven blanket, so I imagine that when it says it's "breathable", they mean it)Did you read this whole review?!Wow. 😳😳. You also need this much information before making purchases?!?! You realize that means you're autistic, too, right??? 😉😉 Juuuuust jokes, my friends....Alright y'all, enjoy your blankets!!!!I'm gonna go purchase another color variety! 😁👍✅

Perfect as an outdoor couch cover blanket
We use this as an outdoor blanket, specifically to cover a spot on our nice outdoor couch where our dog likes to sit, and it's perfect for that. It's not especially pretty, but it's not ugly (we bought the "stone" color, which is a good neutral shade), it's soft, and given the extremely reasonable price, we don't mind if it gets a bit dirty, so it's just what we were looking for.

Color slightly off
Was darker than in the image. More warm toned. Still looks cute and is nicely woven and thin.

Cool & soft
I love this throw! We live in the mountains so it can get chilly even in the summer! I switch our throws to cotton in the summer months. This one is the softest cotton throw we have. The pattern is also much nicer than I expected.

Looks great, but smells weird…
The blanket looks really nice and feels soft, but it had a strange smell when I opened the package, kind of like it had been stored in a damp place. I had to wash and dry it twice before the smell mostly went away. It’s okay now, but definitely not a great first impression.

Just right for our living room chair
Very nice throw. Not too heavy, but not too light. Washed up nicely. Soft. Not scratchy.
