Mclane2035 Edger Belt Guard Genuine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Part

Came on time, well protected for shipping, fit as an original manufacturer equipment should but was a surprisingly low price... very satisfied!

Two metal plates tack-welded together. Tack welds broke in less than two years. Original part lasted about 20 years.

This item was wrapped in bubble wrap. I had to peel off the bubble wrap that was stuck to the part. Paint was still tacky. Now has a bubble wrap imprint in the paint. Vender must have sprayed the part. Factory paint job would be fully dyed. Plus the give away is the paint is a darker shade of red than the rest of the edger’s red. It is a IH/Case red. Still does what it is meant for. No one else would notice the paint shade.

Had to enlarge the hole in the side to 1 inch to clear the blade shaft other than that the part works as expected.

Good products for repairing Mclane edger

My original one cracked around its mounting hole so I removed it and was going to weld it up...I misplaced it, searched all over for it but “no bueno”, so I ordered this replacement. The new one is different as it shields the belt better. The main reason I like operating my edger with the front shield in place as when you raise the head, the belt goes slack and drags to a stop which quickly stops the blade. If one of my dogs gets out and runs up to see what I’m doing, I can almost instantly stop the blade.

the belt guard on my original edger had a poor welding job and I repaired it two times. I t is nice to a a well made part on my machine

I bought this for my 30 year old McClane edger. It is well made, fit perfect and was easy to install.
