LibmanGlass/Dish Sponge

The bottom of the coffee cups I bought this for have a hump that prevents this from cleaning well.

The first time I had seen this type of brush was when I moved into a house with new roommates in college. I learned to appreciate the utility that this provides, and I used it more than any of the other myriad dish cleaning tools we had. When I moved out, I found that I was really missing this sponge and I thought it was time to pick one up for my kitchen.This is ideal for washing cups and glasses, as the brush handle comes straight up rather than rising at an angle like other brushes. Since it's a sponge, you can force it into some pretty small places that you wouldn't be able to reach with another brush. It also holds moisture and suds well, which means you can use less water and soap when you're rinsing.I've seen some people are unhappy with the rough scotch-brite like pad at the bottom, but I have found it useful. If there's something I don't want to use it on, it's easy enough to turn the brush on it's side and avoid the rough pad.The other main complaint I've seen about this product is it's durability. Some people have seen the sponge dislodge from the plastic handle which turns this otherwise useful tool into one useless plastic stick and one oddly shaped sponge. This is true, and it will happen if you're not careful. However, this is a caveat I am more than willing to accept. It's just a sponge attached to a plastic handle, and I can't think of any ways Libman could really address this issue. This comes at a modest price, and I'm much more likely to replace it for sanitary reasons before I replace it due to the sponge falling off.

Okay now I wanna wash cups, let me do it.. Because this thing is so great I invite you for drinks later on. Do you like Fruit Blends or Smoothies? Because this fabulous cleaning sponge and scrubbing tool, goes in the blender so nice; better than my hand, while turning it around with other sponges so I can catch my skin and bleed while cleaning it.Long deep things or small deep things, even whipping it around the them gets them clean because with water it's heavy enough to have the right push down on it while you hold it from the handle. The stems of wine glasses and outsides of things become clean and you don't have to touch them ever again when they're dirty.Don't put it away while it's soak though, make sure you give it a good squeezing and you're ready for next time. If you get lazy tell you know who to go clean some dishes with that new Cylindrical Sponge & Scrubber. I bet you they'll at least respond by going to see what the word Cylindrical means, and then when they see it they'll want to try it because it looks fun. So you can sit back and continue relaxing, you deserve it.Also good when you want to wash someone mouth out with soap, really gets in the sides there. But nothing is worse than the cleaning of so many glasses and cups, thanks Libman for doing them all for me. Muawww. I bought two of them and one is ready when needed, but if they ever need replacement, the only replacement of perfect I can think of.Is More of this one.

I know it's silly to get this worked up over a sponge for cleaning glasses, but I had been looking for something like this for a while before I finally came across it, and it does its job so well!So, what's so great about the Libman Glass/Dish Sponge?* It has a nice ergonomically-shaped handle with a rubberized grip. The handle fits in your hands comfortably and gives you solid control over any scrubbing action. There's also a hole at the end of the handle so you can hang the Libman on a hook, but the sponge will also stand vertically on its own if you prefer.* There is a green scrubber at the bottom of the sponge that does a great job of quickly and effortlessly removing bottom-of-the-glass grime. If you have narrow glasses into which your hands can't quite fit, this is a godsend.* The sponge is quite durable. I've used it daily for over a full year now; I purchased it on 5/9/2011, and am still using it through the date of this review, 6/11/2012. It doesn't get that bacteria-loaded smell that other sponges get, but it probably helps that I soak just the sponge part in boiling water every so often and allow the sponge to air dry by suspending it on a hook.* Makes cleaning out our Contigo travel mugs and other narrow thermoses a breeze!The only con I can think of is that it doesn't come in other colors. But really, that's just getting nit-picky. :)

Had an older glass brush, replaced just as good.

I love this sponge. It is perfect for anything that has the shape of a cup or a bowl because the bottom is rough and can scrape away the stuff at the bottom but the sides are nice and spongy and can make quick work of a tall glass or wide pot in no time and the combo of the sides and the bottom are great for getting into the inside edge of the bottom of your cups and bowls. I highly recommend.

I purchased this to clean out a travel mug and it worked well for a couple of weeks and then the sponge separated from the handle due to the suction pulling it out of the narrow travel mug. That didn't make the entire thing unusable, but it required a little more work to clean the travel mug. It cleaned wonderfully and I like that it stayed soapy and reached to the bottom of the travel mug. I couldn't use a regular sponge or dish cloth. This was the only thing that could reach down to the bottom of the travel mug and had the brillo-type bottom to clean the grit at the bottom. It did a good job. It cleans and does what it is supposed to do.
