Dueber Yellow Gold Plated Stainless Steel Pocket Watch Chain with Spring Ring

This chain seems reasonably well-made and sturdy, but something's not right.First, I have had metal chains before. When you pick them up they feel cold for awhile, like metal does, until they warm up in your hand. But this one feels warm quickly, as if it's coated with plastic not metal.Second, the color is so bright as to be gaudy, like children's costume jewelry. I have seen gold, and this has a little more red. The effect makes the chain an alarmingly brilliant yellow.Third, the links are larger than I expected. It is not like a biker's wallet chain, but it's going in that direction compared with the finer, more elegant chains I recall seeing in the past.So I'm not sure this is the right companion to an elegant, understated, antique pocket watch. It does seem mechanically reliable, however, so I guess I will use it until I find something better.

I purchased this item, due to several genuine 5 star reviews. This chain is what the sellers says that itis and then some. I have an old rich man's railroad watch, that was made in 1888. It cost 240 dollarsin 1888, according to the research that I completed upon purchasing the watch. So, I believe thatyou would had to be rich to spend 240 dollars on a watch in 1888.Upon examination of the watch chain, it is very much worthy of keeping my old antique watch securein my watch pocket and belt loop. Even the color of the chain matched the color of my watch.The fasteners on the chain on both ends are strong and flawless.If would highly and truthfully recommend this chain, if you are needing a fairly priced well made goodlooking watch chain. I certainly have found NO faults with this product...

This pocket watch chain comes as a loose chain; buyers need to know this so Amazon don't tell me about posting rules as there are many reviews addressing packaging. It's 13.5 inches long but the actual chain is 11.5 inches in length. A little tough to operate the small end that attaches to the pocket watch.
