Phonics Fun with Barbie (Barbie) (Phonics Boxed Sets) Paperback – May 11, 2010

My Granddaughter has been resistant to learning to read. These books follow many of the same rules of phonics that she is learning in K-5, but the subject matter has kept her much more interested. Once she realized that with just a little effort, she could read an entire Barbie book, she eagerly wanted to do more. The books are very simple, with only a few words on each page, but each book still tells a complete story. Great purchase.

Perfect starter books. My daughter loved these and the fact she could do them on her own really built her confidence! Bought them for her at the beginning of kindergarten

Only got half of the 12 books in the set. I understand it was used and some of the marks but I should have got all the books.

This series was perfect for my 3 year old to start to learn to read and she mastered it by the time she was four

Ordered new. All the mini-books were included. Considering the size of the "books" I would consider them a bit pricey but anything with "Barbie" is going to expensive. The phonics books are short with only a few lines on each page but I think that's good for teaching young children.

I purchased these for my 5 1/2 year old daughter who loves Barbie. Not only are each of these books smaller than I expected they are not very challenging. There are several pages in these books with just one word. My 3 year old read them no problem. We have the backyardigans, dora, and princess phonics book and they are great. Bigger books actual stories and a little more challenging. These are more like the biscuit phonics books but easier.
