Pretty much. Different shape which lends to a different texture. I think the flavor is the same.

No, they are not. A 1-oz bag has 230 mg sodium, higher than plain potato chips. They have less potassium than regular potato chips. Vegetable powders add color, you can't taste them. Sugar is added to enhance flavor. The carb content is about the same as other potato chips.
