MCSFramatic Fineline Aluminum Frame, Black, 11 x 17 in, Single

I have this line of frames in various sizes...I find that it has a nice modern look & also a better fit when space is tight...the one weakness is the glass, if dropped, will shatter into many jagged pieces. For my wall hung frames, I replaced the glass with a shatterproof one from a local frame shop or dry mount the picture if possible w/o the glass...yes, adds to the already costly product, but would rather play it safe. The other plus w/ these frames is that it accepts sliding wire hooks (also from frame shop), so an easy hanging adjustment can be made w/o poking more holes in the wall

We were hesitant because the price was inexpensive but these don’t look like cheap metal frames. They are well made and look great. It’s a minimalist design but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy them again.

The frames are extremely nice for the money. If you follow their directions, the frames secure nicely. Would have given 5 stars if all three sets arrived together. Please provide a timeline when I can expect the final set.I have never received a partial order on Amazon before, and hope this does not turn into a problem. No indication this was a partial order since no paperwork came with the order. But on Amazon, it indicates 2 out of 3 sets were shipped.

When looking for a frame for a Christmas gift, I came across the MCS Fineline 8.5 x 11 frame. While it looked great, the previous reviews about how complicated it was and occasionally questionable quality made me hesitate. Still, I took a chance and I'm very glad I did. While some of the reviews of quality issues may be anecdotal, mine arrived in pristine condition. In fact, it looks like the packaging was engineered even more than the frame itself...where the frame is cushioned in the middle of a web of cardboard. I've no doubt that packaging could take some abuse!On to how complicated the frame was to use.....hate to ruin the suspense, but it was simple. The instructions were plain to follow and the job of loading the frame up with my artwork was complete in less than 3 minutes start to finish. Getting the tension clips out was about the most difficult part (I just used one of my kids toys to push them a little and they came right out). I'm just at a loss about why anyone would think it was difficult.Once done, the frame looks great! It shows the art well and is more stylish than many frames I looked at. Plus the thin edges help your art/photo get completely seen. It's just a really good frame that I expect will last a while. I don't write a lot of reviews, but I felt that the MCS frame was being unfairly reviewed. It's high quality, packaged very well, and easy to install. Overall, it's a great option that deserves better reviews.

I wanted simple, thin edge frames for five 11"x17" prints of my photos to display in my kitchen. These not only look great but are very easy to use. The release mechanism is ingenious and allows you to insert the photos or other artwork very quickly. Quality is very high: the mitered corners are precise and the removable end fits perfectly so you wouldn't even know that it is removable. The end result is a very professional-looking frame.The only damage was broken glass in one of the frames which I believe was a delivery issue. Within a few days, I received a whole new frame as a replacement and did not have to return the one with broken glass. Regarding delivery, although I ordered them at the same time, strangely, they came either individually or in pairs over four days. Even so, I received them all BEFORE the estimated delivery given when I placed the order!I am extremely happy with these frames. At around $30 each, they are an excellent value. In fact, I ordered five more because I know I'll find a use for them.

Absolutely love these frames and have them in various sizes. I like how minimalist and modern the frame is, which helps the art stand out. While loading/unloading artwork is different than a typical frame, it is very easy to do by following included instructions - instead of popping the backing out, you slide it out. Definitely recommend and will keep purchasing.

I've purchased 4 of these at different times. The first one I got was really great as was the second. But the third and fourth had some issues, so I think this product suffers from inconsistent QC and that explains why some love the frame and some hate it. There seem to be two main issues critiqued in the reviews. I'll address both. First, the locking/release mechanism that some hate and others don't mention. It's actually a really great mechanism! Don't listen to those who complain about it. If we isolate just this feature of the product, it's a big plus. What those who complain don't understand is, there has to be a way to take off the back! The mechanism they came up with is innovative, strong and really easy to use. Second issue is the miter joints on the frame. Here comes the inconsistencies...some examples have great joints and some are terrible. If you can buy in-person, just check the corners, if good, this frame is a really great value, if the are misaligned...well, you can determine whether it's acceptable to you. When they are bad, they make the locking/release mechanism SEEM more cheap and flawed because the mechanism HAPPENS at the miter joints in large measure. But they are two distinct things. At $30ish bucks, this minimalist, attractive aluminum frame is ready to go immediately and represents a GREAT value. But when the corners are misaligned, it makes you wonder if it's worth the money. That's basically it. The two I have with bad corners, I kept. You can't notice them at all when it's hanging on the wall (and yet it still bothers me a little).

The frame is sturdy, it holds the print very tightly, and the front part of the frame that shows is really skinny (like a gallery frame). I love it!

THE GOOD:Putting the art in the frame is awesome. They have 2 small humped metal pieces per side (8 total). These humped metal pieces act like springs to keep your art/glass/mat and backing taut. So if you have a thin set, or heavier set mat etc it adjusts accordingly.THE BAD:The Hanger piece with the teeth also works on the same concept.The piece doesn't stay put like the other 8 side metal pieces do.Take a look at the one picture I had up. I literally heard the Hanger spring pop, I just couldn't get to it in time to save it.I am relieved the glass didn't cut into my art or my custom mat.I'm not going to lie, I spent some time crying over this disaster.Sorry, but this is not a good product if you plan to hang something that means a lot to you.Patty

This is a really nice frame! It’s a little complicated to pull apart but once your pic is in it it looks really sleek and professional! Defs a bit expensive tho

I love these frames. I use them for framing pages of comic book art and they’re perfect. It is thin but sturdy so the art is the focus and not the frame. It’s easy to get pages in and out and easy to hang on the wall. I’ve bought about 8 of these so far.

they look great, just wish I didn't throw out the stand up suports. but awsum value for the money and ultra modern
