First off I want to say thank you to the seller. You have saved me a ton of money, my wife is a gadget freak and boy when she noticed that old faithful wasn't performing like she used to she instantly started screaming for a new vacuum, a Dyson ball to be exact. Ha noway I said honey the belt is broken she looked confused THE BELT????? See like allot of other women and men they think the vacuum is broken thus leading to purchasing another expensive gadget. Not me though I've had that Hoover for 18 years it has 17amps of sucking power ! As long as that motor cranks up she stays, and for the record the vacuum was with me before my wife lol.Now to the review. finding these belts are harder than ever. What was once easy to find is now impossible to find and appears it's being fazed out. stores are carrying belts but not this model any longer I became frustrated. I tried several big lot stores no luck, hardware stores no luck, Menards Home Depot no luck. I was about to meet defeat and buy a product that I know is all hype and four times the price of my beloved HOOVER. But this seller saved the day not only did they have the belts the price was fantastic. I ordered six belts they arrived quickly and it's two months later the belts work fine. Thank you thank you so much the look of shock on my wife face priceless, see I never told her I found the belts. So when she came home from shopping one day and saw the carpet nicely fluffed with beautiful vacuum lines she just knew Dyson had arrived. She opened the closet and pow got cha it's the work of old faithful our reliable 18 year champ out HOOVER TYPE"A" STAND UP VACUUM.

It took some searching but as one reviewer mentioned. These belts are the 38528040. 40201190 is just the new part number. While my son was Vacuuming, he happened to snag something that caused the brush to stop. unfortunately, it broke the drive belt. I ordered this belt and it arrived after a few days. i replaced it and started vacuuming, and guess what. i snagged something and broke the belt again!Good thing it was a two pack. so i sat down and checked why it kept breaking the belts, even a new one and found that the bar that drove the belt had some rust on it and so made it really rough. while this is good for driving the belts, what happens is that everytime the brush stopped spinning while in operation, it stops the belt and the roughage eats thru the belt! the cure is to sand it down with some sand paper and make it smooth again.so i replaced the belt again and guess what. i snagged something again! this time, while there was some burned rubber smell. the belt held together and i was able to continue vacuuming after a while. So check the drive bar when you replace the belt and make sure its smooth so you dont have to keep buying new belts.Oh and one other tip, for the bagless hoover vacuum, if you notice that its not sucking as much as it used to, clean the secondary and tertiary air filters. its pretty easy and all you need is a cross/philips screwdriver. it will restore the sucking to like new.Hope this helps.

Imagine my dismay when I found out that a belt had broken on my  Hoover Elite Rewind . I had no idea where the issue would be or how to fix it.Googling around a bit it seemed like the problem was common, the belt that drives the brush bar (or agitator in vacuum-speak) had broken. For many people it breaks every 6 months, which may tell you something about how often I vacuum because mine had lasted over 6 years.The belt was easy to replace, just take off the bottom cover, you'll see where there should be a belt going from the motor to the brush bar. Stretch the belt around each of those points (takes some effort), and screw it all back together. You're good to go.Since this comes with two belts, store the second one on the vacuum itself by securing it to the upright handle so you don't lose it. Done in 10 minutes.

I'm going to include a few vital pieces of information that I couldn't find in other reviews when I was purchasing this product.1. These belts are for the roller brush. I caught a sock while vacuuming, the belt snapped, and my roller quit working. There are 6 screws to take off the bottom black plate, and the belt is super easy to access.2. This IS the right size belt. Rubber belts wear out and stretch when you use them for an extended period of time. The belt you receive WILL be slightly smaller than your old worn out one, but it is the exact same size your old one was when it was new. Takes a little stretching to pop on, and then it's as good as new.3. Did you see the price on these? what are you still reading reviews for? Buy it! My vacuum has never been happier.

My Hoover vacuum ( EmPower 4600 ) belt finally broke after 7 years of hard serving and I was in need of replacement ASAP! Cannot find it anywhere locally, decided to give Amazon a shot. Believed me after 30 minutes of finessing. I had to get my helper out to hold down the vacuum base while I stretch the new belt out as much as possible to fit it over on both end. I find it much easier just removed the 8 screws and detached the upper part of vacuum for easier access. My Hoover cleans like a brand new vacuum again after the replacement. These are genuine Hoover belts that comes in two in a package. Thanks to AMAZON!

I ordered these belts from Killdirt and initially was discouraged to see that amazon charged like $5 for shipping and the shipping actually cost 65¢ on these belts. I left a bad review (2 Star) and was contacted the very next day by the company asking what they could do to make me satisfied with my order. I was very pleased with the woman I spoke with who really seemed like she wanted to help. Just talking with her was enough to make me realize they are a caring company.The belts, I have not actually used yet because the vacuum is still brand new but They look perfect.
