Better than expected
Set up instructions are not as detailed as I would have liked and entering settings on my phone was a little frustrating. But the end result was better than expected. I wanted to extend my signal approx. 200 feet beyond the existing range. I was prepared to employ the AP/Router mode, but gave the simpler repeater mode a shot first. That was all I needed, which saved me having to run 60 ft of Cat 6 cable. Good strong signal to the end of my yard, 225 feet from the extender. Incorporate with my Google wifi system model NLS-1304-25. The equipment appears to be sturdy. It was easy to mount. As it turned out I might have gotten by with a less expensive repeater only system, but I prefer the ability of this system to adapt to unpredictable circumstances.

Greatly increases coverage area
I have a large permanent “campsite” with 2 campers on it the router is in one camper but did not make it far enough to service the other camper. I put this unit in a tree and now I get service over the entire campsite and even into several neighboring campsitesWorks great!

Connection is via PoE even if you don't use the incoming LAN
I have to admit it took me a while to figure this device out. When I first unpacked it and read through the instructions I was under the impression that PoE (power over ethernet) was an OPTION for hooking it up. So I was completely puzzled about where to plug the power adapter into the device. I gave up and put it on a shelf for a couple of weeks but I really wanted to get it working to add an outdoor WiFi camera in an area that my router doesn't reach. So I pulled it back out and decided to just plug in through the little PoE switch and lo and behold that's all that you have to do. You don't have to have an incoming LAN connection like I was thinking. So now it is set up and I am very pleased with the build of the device. It seems solid and weatherproof and I appreciate the addition of a grounding connection because we live in a lightning prone area and have had surge strips fried from incoming surges. I am still playing with location to get the most range out of it but it has given me a little extra distance already. For the current price of $88 I think this is a very good buy if you are looking to add an outdoor WiFi connection.

All my cameras work now. I can pick them all up.
This is great. I had a cheaper one to see how they do. It was good but still couldn’t get all my cameras up. Hooked this one up. Now I can go to the back side of the property. This has a great signal. Keep this in mind. Power lines and metal do hamper the signal. I have 10 acres I’m watching. This antenna works for me.Update. It no longer works and it’s past the return date. Not happy. None of my outer cameras won’t come up on my screen. I’ll be looking elsewhere for a way to do my security system. I won’t advise against it. It did work at a point. Luckily I still have my old one.

good ones work great! but YMMV
These things are hit and miss. I've purchased 3 now so apparently I like them BUT.. I only use them as repeaters and the first one is in my lakeside shed and works excellent. Solid as can be - power goes out and when it comes back on, it reconnects with no issue. Great signal too. Then I bought one for the upper part of my yard. The signal from both sides was weak, I found a spot where ti would get the house signal and get it out to about the shed by the badminton area but it was weak and sporadic. That one died at some point over the winter so I just replaced it. The new one has a very strong signal in both directions. WAY stronger than the one that died so YMMV.

Excellent outside wifi AP
This is a complete kit for setting up an outside wifi access point/repeater. This dualband unit is a little bit overkill for my yard due to the limitations of my internet provider (300M vs gigabit for this AP). Nevertheless, it certainly does not slow down my outside connections. Mounted on the eve of the house with line of sight to most of the yard coverage is near 100% over a radius of 400ft. Due to the long range of this unit, be careful with your SSID and password. Setup is easy if you have ever setup routers or other access points. Straightforward with no surprises, just follow directions. You do need to select your mode such as AP/repeater/mesh/router. The 24v POe is compatible with a lot of other outside APs, but NOT with a lot of switches/routers, so best to use the included power injector. If you are using it as a AP or wired router, be sure and use a high quality CAT6 (or CAT5e if 300-500M) to get the best data rate. The construction is the same as other Wavlink models and should be relatively weatherproof in most installations. A beachfront or area subject to salt spray will probably need a little extra protection to prevent premature failure due to corrosion. If you are mounting on a metal pole, try and get the antennas as far from the metal as possible. I like to use a little nonmetallic extension above the pole for mounting since this is so light. If you need maximum coverage and maximum rates, this is for you.
