Pleasant reading
Becoming quite a fan of Matt Haig since reading "The Midnight Library" (highly recommended btw)I read a lot of Psychology, Self Help & Mental Health books as I am really interested in the subject, I only picked this up as I had seen it advertised online and in book stores, and due to the success of the Midnight Library felt compelled to have a look at it. I didn't expect much and felt I wouldn't take it's contents very seriously. However I've found a lot of useful things in here, the book is a very easy and short read so you could easily finish it within a day. It's the type of book you read in a day and cant wait to pass on to a friend. It's everything you think it will be, positive, uplifting, motivating, charming to name a few.

Such a lovely book. No pressure to read it regularly, just literally when needed!
This is a really uplifting book and does what it says on the tin - comforts. It offers encouragement and is so inspirational. I keep it by my bed and read a couple of pages most nights before I go to sleep. A must have for everyone!

Just what I needed during a difficult time
A book so full of wisdom and hope. I loved it and I’m sure I will refer to it often.

Matt always seems to know when I need him, whether he is aware of it or not.
Anyone that knows me knows of my love for Matt Haig and all he does. I don’t want to be one of those people who say I knew him before he became popular…but I’m going to be. I had a number of his books before he became Matt Haig. I mean, he’s always been Matt Haig (well, as far as I’m aware), but the Matt Haig that everyone knows and loves nowadays. And I couldn’t be happier for his success. I own all 11 of his adult fiction and non-fiction books and am gradually collecting his children’s books (even if I am 20+ years older than his intended audience).Obviously, I think Matt’s fiction books are terrific, but there’s something utterly sublime and comforting about his non-fictions. I read an early review for this book where the reviewer complained that it had no structure or flow or theme and was just a collection of wishy-washy random sayings. But for me, that’s the positive. You don’t need to commit to an entire narrative or keep focussed on who is who and what’s going on and how it’s meant to make you feel. You dip in when you need him (I’m rather pleased with that sentence – Matt, feel free to use that in your publicity!)Matt could have let his experience of depression turn into anger and a hatred of the world or a negative head space, and I’m sure he still has those days – as do we all. But instead, he’s used his physical and mental survival to help others see the positives in the world. It may seem corny, but he helps us se the light when there’s an overwhelming darkness.Matt’s first non-fiction book How To Stay Alive came to me during a time of moderate depression, self-harm and suicidal thoughts. His next non-fiction book Notes on a Nervous Planet came out seven months after the death of my father at the age of 57, in a time where I struggled to face the world again. And now, The Comfort Book comes at a time where I’m still unemployed eight months after being made redundant, I’m still in a continuous loop of health battles and medical investigations, and when I’m apprehensive about this new normal the world has become.Matt always seems to know when I need him, whether he is aware of it or not. And I pray he will always be there to offer a helping hand when I need him.

A hug in a book
I absolutely LOVED The Comfort Book by @mattzhaigThis book is a ‘dip in & out’ style. You can open it up at any page and just start reading.I chose to read it all the way through from start to finish, but now that I have done that, it’s living on my side table ready to be picked up whenever I feel the need for a little boost. My favourite chapter, the one that REALLY stood out to me was on page 96. You can slide along to the last picture to see why I loved it so much. This is 100% a hug in a book. It’s called the COMFORT book for a reason. It feels like you’re being enveloped in warmth, love, & truth.I think it’s obvious by now, but I gave this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and I will be recommending it for years to come, I’m sure.Well done Matt Haigh. I think this is your best book yet.
