A decent shave - hard to complain at the price
I have no brand loyalty when it comes to razors, and constantly shift around from brand to brand in search of the best shave and/or the best deal. I've tried most of those on the market (Gillette, Harrys etc) and I have to say these are up there with them - the blades have, so far, lasted as long as any competitors and it's a comfortable shave. It might not be the closest shave I've had (I'd say Harry's are marginally better but there's not a huge amount in it) but it's still a smooth one, and at under £8 for the handle and 4 blades it very hard to pick fault. I shave nearly every day and the first blade is still going strong after a couple of weeks, which is better than most Gillette blades have done. I think my days of buying expensive Wilkinson/Gillette blades are over as there's better alternatives on the market.I nearly didn't try these after reading some of the critical reviews, but I'm really glad I did. Shaving is a very subjective thing and there's a lot of factors involved such as skin type etc. so what may be a great brand for one person might not be the same for the next.In conclusion I'd say these are well worth a punt at this price point - I've been impressed enough that I'll be going back again if they remain at this price.

Far better than I expected
UPDATE: I'm now on day 15 with the first blade and I'm still getting a close shave. I am, however, getting the odd little nick (fewer and smaller than I've had in the past with other brands) so I would be happy to say each blade lasts two good weeks. I'm not sure you could get a month out of one. I'm going to keep using the first blade to see just how long it does last.Let me start by saying I have fairly soft skin (ain't I lucky!) and fairly coarse facial hair. I've been cut so often when shaving it's just been a part of the experience. I've been using Gillette blades but wanted to look for something cheaper.I was a subscriber to Harry's shave plan, but felt that the quality had dropped in recent months - no proof of that, just a feeling.I've read the other reviews on these blades and they are very mixed. Some hate them.Speaking for myself only I can say that I've been delighted with my first shave this morning. I've had a close, comfortable shave and I haven't cut or nicked myself at all. Even with the Gillette I expected at least the odd nick. It's too soon to say how long each blade will last me, but for the money even if they only last a short while I'll be coming back for more. If I get one good week out of each blade they'll match how the Harry's blades were at first. If I get anymore than that I'll be very happy. Some people have claimed they get a month per blade, but it must depend on your skin, type of facial hair, how often you shave and even what type of shave cream/foam you use. If I got a month per blade I'd be extremely happy. As to the quality "feel", no, they don't feel like a "premium" product. But I've had premium products in the past and if my first shave experience is anything to go by, these perform about as well as the expensive brands, if not better.

Pros and cons
I tried these razors as my normal ones went up steeply in price. At a third of the cost I figured it was worth a go.I usually shave face and head once a week, and with a rinse of the blade I can expect three used before I need to change it. These however are pretty much single use for me.Initially the cut was close and easy and I had high hopes. However, as the somewhat crude handle attachment blocks the back of the blades they quickly become blocked with cuttings and not easily cleared. By the time I was on the last part of my head I was using several passes and still missing bits. There is a tipping head, but does not swivel. There is also no single blade, so more bits missed. I had to finish with my old blade to get these parts.Sadly this system does not suit me. I will try another budget blade next time.

Cheap, if that's what you want...
I've given this razor kit three stars as it's definitely cheap. It technically does what it's supposed to, it didn't rip my face off and it did shave reasonably close. However, it's a really cheap feeling piece of kit. Very definitely down to a price, not up to a standard. Uncomfortable and draggy - not really sure the lubricating strip contains anything. Brand new blade and it felt dull.I'd write it off to just being what it cost, but I went out and tried a Harrys one from Boots on a whim and for similar money, the experience is night and day. And the cost isn't massively different. This is very much Amazon jumping on the subscription razor bandwagon with a me-too product that's as cheap as they could get it. Will be going in the bin.

A curates egg?
This razor looks good and feels comfortable to hold as it has a good weight; neither too heavy or too light and it is an OK shave. However it somehow feels "sluggish" when compared to my Gillette or Harry's which I also have. If I'd not used those before this one I would be fine with using it as it's OK just not as good as the ones I already use.

Takes on the big brands and wins
Over the years i have tired different brands of razors from the likes of gillet, Wilkinson and supermarkets own brands. This razor is a great price and is as good as the major brands. Blades last slightly less time than these but not so much it is an issue.

More expensive than competitors for average quality
Not as sturdy as other competitors subscription razors but does the trick. The blades also seem to dull quite quickly and don’t give me as close of a shave as what I’d like (using on my legs and armpits).Wanted to try out as having razors on subscription is so much easier. There’s a lot of unnecessary cardboard packaging too.

OK but not great
Would not bother, I also have to shave my head, found that the blades went blunt quicker than the normal make I use
