This is my second pair of Ovation half-chaps. I needed a larger size and gave my old ones to students at the equestrian center to use. I find I like the comfort of half chaps for casual riding. I ordered a large to accommodate my calves & my only negative observation would be that they are slightly long. The strap under the boot is a bit loose. That being said, I really like this product and it's price point. When I'm riding more, I may invest the time and money in a more custom fit (and therefore a bigger investment) but in the meantime, these really do the job and will last a long time. Some have commented on the difficulty of the snap closure; they were a bit stiff to close in the beginning but when used a few times, no problem with snapping closed.

Very sturdy- tighter than expected- will probably stretch to fit perfectly
