... it out but right out of the box its beautiful and has a really nice shape
I have yet to mount it and test it out but right out of the box its beautiful and has a really nice shape. Lets see if it can hold up like my cold steel spearUPDATE:i mounted it to a heavy pole and spent the day beating the living snot out of it and it held up great despite how thin it is. im most certainly going to buy more from windlass

Well...
You do get whats in the picture. It is exactly as it looks. It is high carbon steel and it is made by windlass. However a few complaints. First off, the edge. I believe that it is because windlass is a company in India where you cannot export sharp objects, but the edge was like a centimeter thick. I had to grind that thing down for a solid hour, and even then it wasn't that sharp. The biggest complaint is unfortunately construction. It is a long thin (comparatively) blade sort of haphazardly lopped onto a tube. This means that upon use (even though it is stated as battle ready) the blade bende at the joint of its end and the beginning of the tube. Mine broke after two days of use. Certainly that can't be called "battleready." Regardless I'm just going to weld it back on and keep it as a decorative piece. It still looks cool.

Worth the money
Well made, quite large, basically a sword on a stick..ha. both arrived as promised on time one is absolutely perfect the other has a very slight bend in it I'm going to wedge and weight it for a while to straighten it so it's really not a big deal as they are handmade products. But very satisfied. Nicely finished as well.

Poorly welded and broke.
Spend your money on something else. Shipped within time expected. Blade portion was poorly welded to the socket. Inclusions were visible from outside . Blade was bent by a few degrees and my attempt to straighten it caused the bale to break off at the weld with the socket. Going to try to weld it back together.

Four Stars
It's what I expected for a decorative spear head. It's slightly crooked.

Meh
It arrived unsharpened, which I expected. However, given its length, the blade is relatively thin with no substantial ridge for strength. Also, the socket is very short for such a long blade and appears to be designed for a broom handle thickness pole/ shaft, so I would expect it to snap off (or be cut off) any wooden shaft if used in a melee or for hunting. Might be reliable if welded onto a steel pole and if you had a welder run a bead up the center of the blade for strength. If that's even possible (I'm no welder). It is a pretty piece with a sharp point, but if you're looking for historical accuracy, I doubt any viking would have trusted his or her life to this sort of work. Glad I only dropped $35 on it.

Buyer Beware, photo is not what you get.
Not as advertised. Buyer beware. Pitted, Rusted, bent at end of blade, no hole for mounting to shaft, inferior metal quality. No support ridge extending from haft to blade. Unsafe for use for anything but decoration.
