Great Movie/Horrible Slim Case
A great time period classic from the 1950's with the only major fault being in its distribution in a slim case format. And as for slim cases, these might be useful for someone who lives in a 200 or 300 square foot residence but not for anyone else.

Five Stars
Great costumes not the best from Betty Davis.

Bette Davis's second time as Queen Elizabeth
This film is a good opportunity to see Bette Davis playing the same character again but with more experience under her belt. The first time was 1939. Here in 1955, she has more maturity and again she does well. Richard Todd is good and a good contract to Errol Flynn. Joan Collins is decorative and her romance with Todd needed more scenes to be convincing. The production is very good and Henry Koster's direction is effective and professional as usual. But the film, I feel, needs to be longer with more interplay with these three actors. Beautiful costumes, impressive art direction and grandiose musical scoring isn't enough here to make up for a shorter running time. However ,this film, as it is, is more than just good. Too bad, it could have been great and a major movie of the 50's.

Bette Davis as Queen Elizabeth the 1st, what more do you need.
Coming to us from 1955, comes this sweeping story of the Virgin Queen, Queen Elizabeth the 1st. And Richard Todd plays the very ambitious Sir Walter Raleigh who may or may not have had a torrid affair with Elizabeth or it may have been that Elizabeth wanted one but Raleigh had other plans with a lady of the court played by Joan Collins. He even married her which sent Elizabeth into a very big snit. I love the older movies and the acting is what it was supposed to be for the time and of course Bette looks to be having a blast, she plays Queens so well. I will recommend this movie fans who love their old films that are more acting and story than effects.

The Virgin Queen
Thank you for my video, I received it on time and for a reasonable price. I don't no much about others thinking but you usually think of Betty Davis you think of Queen Elizabeth. She such a wonderful actress and her performance of Queen Elizabeth makes you think that she is the Queen. She eventually plays the Queen two other times and again she sends her impacting influence onto the silver screen.
