Savage Gear Pro Folding Rubber Mesh Landing Net

Not managed to find many faults with the net. Great for use with barbed hooks detangles easy. Doesn’t stink as badly after use. Good size.Negatives are can be a bit fiddly getting the net out in a hurry but I’m pleased with the purchase and hope to have many more fish out with it

I think this is aimed at roving pike fishing. That is what I bought it for anyway.When folded, it is lightweight and compact.When opened out it is large and reasonably strong.However......The problems start when you attempt to open it up for use.You need two thumbs to press the retaining studs in sufficiently to enable them to engage in the locking block, and a foot to pull it open snd the other foot to balance on, whilst playing a 20lb pike, with both hands already fully occupied.After much frustration and lost fish, I came home and hacksawed the handle and one of the thumb studs off. Altogether better and prevents you having a team of helpers on hand to do it for you.Can you imagine putting two tent poles together and unfolding a deckchair, with one hand, whilst playing a pike of a lifetime, with the other?Not the solution you are looking for, especially at this price. Best buy something else if you frequently fish alone.
