Disappointing
I've had a few Marples chisels in my time but this one's crudely made in comparison. "Country of origin USA" it said on the Amazon listing. It says "Made in China" on the packaging on the one they've sent me, so buyers beware.

Good Quality, with a little effort an excellent chisel
Well made chisel with good steel, Handle is very comfortable and the profile of the bevel edge is actually finer than I thought but still beefy enough for heavy work. the rear side ( flat side ) benefited from 15 minutes of lapping through a few grits to polish it up better as it is rather coarse but it is acceptably flat so worth the extra few minutes effort. Early days with this but I see no reason why it shouldn't be a good tool long term. I'm happy
