Butterick B4377 Women's Dress and Cape Cosplay Costume Sewing Pattern, Sizes 6-12

When I begin constructing the dress I had serious doubts about the fit, and I noticed that some of the pattern lines didn’t line up. I was able to trim my fabric here and there and I made adjustments to the shoulders for a more period specific fit. I added several inches of length to the sleeves and skirt, and changed the closure setup in the back. All in all, I couldn’t be more happy with the way this turned out.We love Ren faires but most people don’t realize their costumes aren’t actually period specific to the renaissance era. (Pirates and corsets didn’t exist in the true renaissance era.). So, after a good bit of research I wanted a piece that was much more authentic. The boat neck and fitted sleeves on this were perfect.

Haven't made it yet, but this pattern is giving me two different pieces that I can use for 2 different outfits I'm making for the Ren Fair. Last year I made surcotes for my granddaughters, but didn't have time to make the kirtles to go under them. So this year I'm finishing them and this pattern has a very nice kirtle. Also needed a full hooded cape for my daughter's elfin outfit and this pattern has that too. Yardage on these is a cost drawback though. But you can't get around that when making these kinds of items. Lot's of these patterns are out of print and very expensive. This one wasn't and that's a big plus.

Just what I neede

Das pattern kam schnell mit Anleitung allerdings keiner deutschen was mich geärgert hat aber schwamm drüber. Alles ganz sorgsam und gründlich übersetzt, sorgsam ausgeschnitten dabei auf die richtige Größe geachtet. Alles wunderbar dann wollte ich die Teile testweise zusammenstecken. Was soll ich sagen, es passte kein Teil ans andere. Ich wurde stutzig weil ich eigentlich alle Teile so ordentlich wie möglich ohne falten aufgesteckt hatte. Nochmal alles überprüft, alles nach Anleitung ausgeschnitten. Dann einfach nur mal die ausgeschnittenen Teile des Schnittmusters aneinander gelegt. Passen hinten und vorne nicht es sei denn man überlappe sie weit hinter der maßlinie für die kleinste Größe. Dass das ärgerlich ist muss ich glaube ich nicht dazu sagen

Deutschsprachige Anleitung fehlt wie in der Artikelbeschreibung angegeben. Dies war allerdings der Grund für die Bestellung. Das ist sehr ärgerlich. Ansonsten war die Lieferung zügig.
