Boat T-Top Marine Electronics Box- Universal Design- with Bracket

I bought the electronics box and mounting hardware from Fishmaster last month and ran into a multitude of issues with the unit. First, the slam latch is designed to close over a square piece of rubber that is glued to the inside of the box, when mine arrived even though there is an “industrial grade” adhesive used by the company it had fallen off. This piece of rubber does not seem to be situated any certain way so when I got around to it, a few try’s were needed to properly shim the door myself. Once this was done, installation went fairly easy as it’s basically on you to have the mechanical skills to achieve that. After I had completed spring maint on my boat I dropped it in to get a decent shakedown in, i was not on the water more than 30 min before I noticed that the screws and nuts used to attach the door were coming off. On closer inspection FIshmaster decided to use countersunk screws on the door which is flat of course and some of the cheapest nuts I have come across. This is not a huge issue as I can replace the hardware with something that will actually work but instead of actually running the boat I spent the rest of the time wondering how long until the door fell off (on the way back to the house). Do not expect a ready to use piece of equipment if you decide on this product which I highly advise against.

The box is fine. The rubber block that the latch slides behind fell off almost immediately. Poorly installed with a little bit of glue. I used small screws & 5200. Hopefully that keeps it in place.

Even tho the first one got damaged in shipping the second arrived in good condition. It looks and works awesome on my fishmaster T-top.

I ended up returning it because found one better that suited my boat. Good quality.

Great product well built. They just need to use locking nuts or lock tite on the hinges. They vibrate loose
