I know it is expensive when I placed the order so I gave it high expectations. I was so disappointed to find out the £3 per packet cold noodles is nothing different from a 45p one. What a waste of money!

These are super simple to cook, and really delicious! The sauce reminds me a lot of teokbokki sauce, which is good and bad. If you’re not familiar with the flavor, I’ll do my best to describe it...Imagine a tablespoon of sriracha with a little squirt of ketchup thrown into it. Then, grate an entire apple into that and follow it with a generous squeeze of dark honey. Cook down until like a thick paste.To me, this sauce is NOT spicy, though I also understand that my spice meter is broken and what I think isn’t spicy often really is. While it was delicious and comfortable to eat, I did feel the slightest tingle on my lips and my nose did get a little sniffly, so there’s certainly heat in there, it’s just not one that will attack your taste buds too bad.The bigger issue, and what almost tipped it over onto the side of something that I couldn’t finish, was how increddddddddddibly sweet they were. Seriously, do yourself a favor and add a bit of vinegar or squeeze of lemon juice or something to cut through the candy sweetness of this. And any kind of raw onion-that bitterness/funk works real well in the combo.Overall? I actually really loved these noodles. The noodles themselves are bouncy and have a good chew to them, and even though the sauce provided is super sweet and barely spicy, it’s easy to doctor it up to your liking.What did I top mine with? All sorts of random stuff. Some black garlic, scallions, a boiled egg, half an avocado, some cherry tomatoes, and sesame seeds. I also cooked the noodles with some frozen shrimp at the same time, and some thinly sliced carrots. Pretty sure you could add anything at all and it would be delicious, but I recommend choosing at LEAST one thing that’s oniony, one thing that’s savory, and one thing that has a sourness to it. The variety made each bite a joy and stopped my tastebuds from getting bored or exhausted.

The noodles cook fast in the microwave and they cook evenly. Sometimes ramen noodles don't cook evenly and half are undercooked but not these. The sauce is a little sweet (apple) and tangy and just the perfect spicy. I like these hot or cold (using ice cubes) in the summer.
