Illustrations are very offensive
I purchased this book to use as a resource for my son's friends and school. I am extremely disappointed with the illustrations and how they depict the people in the book that have TS. All illustrations of the people with TS in the book show them as deformed, making funny faces, less hair, and/or longer or shorter arms. It is very unfortunate because this book may have decent content but I can't get past the way they depict people with TS. Shame on you for putting this out there. Our loved ones have enough of a difficult time trying to change the stigma already associated with TS.

Nothing special
Our son did not care for this book. Part of the issue is that it is written in eastern european language. It was hard for him to understand the language.

To explain the kids
This book give you the words to explain the child with Tourette Syndrome what's going on with him/her. It's a complete and easy book to read that explain everything about TS and the most important how to communicate the child in a natural way, what is the Tourette Syndrome and what expect about it.

Better suited for older children.
I was looking for a book explaining Tourettes to a 6 yr old and , although this book is well written, it is better souited for older children.

Helped my 10 year old understand his TS
We bought this book for my 10 year old son with TS. It helped him understand and seemed to give him some comfort in knowing that others have it as well.

VERY INFORMATIVE - HELP BOOK
If you have been diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome or know someone who has been, this book is esential as well as short and informative about what to expect. Frequently asked questions are answered in simple form. Written with first hand expierence about the Tourette disorder, this book is a great purchase.

Not for me
From the terribly ill thought out and quite offensive cover art, I was concerned this book might not be for me and I was right. Bought to help explain my 8 year old daughter's tic disorder to her, I haven't let her anywhere near it. There is nothing positive or helpful in this book. Yes there are descriptions by young people of how TS has affected their life. They offered little hope unfortunately. One attempt at positivity is one paragraph entitled 'have any famous people had Tourettes" which names THREE people, going back as far as 1709! Yes one is a premiership footballer but my daughter has no interest in football. I found a much more inspirational example for my daughter; Brad Cohen,an american teacher who grew up with Tourettes and promised to become the kind of teacher he had never had. He encountered prejudice and lack of understanding but went on to be a great teacher, speaker and runs the Brad Cohen foundation for kids with Tourettes. I would recommend Top of The Class by Brad Cohen and put this book in the bin!

Book about Tourettes
I knew nothing of Tourettes till my seven year old grandson was diagnosed with it. I have found this book interesting as I now understand something of his problem.
