i-box Ellipsis Plug-in Smart Speaker with Alexa built-in and Built In WiFi Extender

Have now returned this but let me try and be balanced.ProsI loved the fact you popped it in the socket and you are ready to get started.Set up was very easySound quality is not brilliant, but realistically, what do you expect from a unit this size?Works well with 'Alexa' skillsConsIt does not work with Spotify unless via your phone. This is the main reason for returning. At the top of the main website it says it works with Spotify and a host of other streaming services, however, the site goes on to assures you (although you have to go looking for it) that an update will be made in the next few weeks to allow full Spotify usage. 2 months on, no update. So I could send it to the speaker via my phone, but thats what I have other speakers for.It would randomly light up without me or the TV saying the 'A' word.I think once this is tweaked, maybe the second gen, it could be a great bit of kit. Also, if you use Amazon unlimited, no issue either.

Had to set up an Amazon music account to get Alexa to play music. Would not work with Spotify. Sound is pretty good considering the size but the wifi extender did not work at all, it is fine in good wifi areas of the house but will not work where the wifi signal is weak, this is why we bought this model so in effect it doesn't do what it is supposed to do. I have now bought a BT wifi extender which has extended the wifi successfully to where we wanted the Alexa to be so now it works fine. But don't think that this will do the job, it won't.

This was my first Alexa device (after buying 3 HomePods!) and I must say, it is quite impressive. The only down side that I have found as it does not appear to support the 'drop-in' feature that allows you to use the Alexa devices a intercoms. I subsequently bought 2 Echo Dots to go with my Ellipsis and these DO support 'drop-in', so it would appear that the Ellipsis is not quite as 'Alexa compatible' as it first appears. Sound quality is better that Echo Dot though, so unless you want the intercom feature, this device will do the job nicely! (Still prefer Siri and my Apple HomePods though!!)

Bought this to add to my Alexa Echo & Dot and provide another speaker around the house.. Particularly like the thought of no wires. Unfortunately, the device is not compatible with other Alexa devices and won’t link. Works completely independently reasonably well and provides same Alexa functions though. Sound quality is fairly poor compared to Alexa Dot, very ,tinny,. Returned and bought another Dot which does what I wanted perfectly well.

I purchased two of these while on offer. Not easy to set up but once done pretty stable.Sound quality is ok but not perfect.I thought they were compatable with my other alexa products but after a while realised they are not as you cannot play music throughout them together with the echo or echo plus which is disappointing.They will play music together on there own but as i say not with the echo.Only thing they do is voice commands ie alex turn on the lights.I will use them in bedrooms as an ad on and hope a softwear upgrade will cure the problems.Would i buy them again NO i would buy echo dots. but very disappointed

We bought this during a lightening deal for under £8...at this price this alexa wannabe is absolutely fantastic. Sound quality is adequate, set up was very easy and ny son loves having alexa in his bedroom. The plug and play item is a little bulky and not very attractive, so best out of sight.

Ended up sending back after struggling with configuration for a few hours.Only works on a 2.4Ghz network and I did not want to reconfigure the wi-fi, and other extenders, in the whole house just for this one item, will order an echo instead.A shame as the sound quality seemed nice and it's a good price compared to the larger echo products.

The sound is quite good but this device , like my girlfriend ,is hard of hearing. It was a bit tricky for me to set up two as a stereo pair, but that's probably because I'm getting on a bit!.if you unplug them,it's a struggle to get them back in sync. It's good, but it's not an Amazon Alexa.
