Kneeling in Bethlehem

This is a personal favorite and was a gift for someone I care for deeply. Both of us were pleased.

This book was recommended to me by my church's organist years ago as a wonderful preparation for Advent. It is divided into different topical sections dealing with preparing for the Christmas season. I love the poetry of Ann Weems. Although she has now passed, Ann has left us with poems that are still extremely useful and meaningful.

Love this book had to share it with a friend. It’s out of print so used is the only option. It came in reasonable time and as described. The cover was slightly faded but otherwise pristine.

This is a good resource during Advent.

I actually purchased this book many years ago before there was an Amazon or internet. A few months ago the opportunity arose to add this book to my Kindle collection and I immediately did so. Ann Weems translates her keen observations and thoughtful insights into timeless poems, speaking of Advent's gifts of faith, hope,love and joy. Revisiting her poems underscores the capacity of Weems' writing to continually inspire. At the very least put this treasure on your wishlist for future reference, you'll be glad you did. Excellent resource or gift.

Ann Weems' poetry resonates with me. I lead Advent studies and will use her poems from this book to supplement the studies and offer participants a different approach to a beautiful season that can too quickly become hectic and harried.

Just what I wanted.

We enjoyed reading these poems at church during the advent season for our adult education time. I especially appreciated that Amazon had several used copies of the book so that all participants could obtain their own copy at a reasonable cost.

Having been introduced to Ann Weems through her "Kneeling in Jerusalem" collection, which I found really wonderful, I must admit this collection was a bit of a let down. It isn't bad, but somehow doesn't live up to her work in the other book.

Wonderful Advent book of poems to inspire and give you food for thought and prayer on your faith journey. A must read for every pilgrim on the road to Bethlehem.
