Not exactly an NES, but it's the next best thing!
My NES had taken a dump on me, so instead of replacing the 72-pin connector, I looked into buying a Famiclone (the nickname for 3rd party NES systems). After doing some research, and watching multiple Youtube reviews, I found the Yobo FC to be unanimously the best of the Famiclones; though not perfect. Seeing as the system was only about $25, and it also supported original NES controllers...Let's just skip to the part where I own it. Simply put, I love this thing. Let me break this down into subsections:-Console-The actual item itself. You have to understand that it's small; very small. The system is about the size of two NES game cartridges stacked up, and it weighs about the same as well. If you have small children or even pets, you might want to keep it somewhere elevated, like a coffee table or on top of your TV stand. I have yet to drop mine, but it feels like it was made with cheap plastic: so try to keep it safe. The Yobo FC comes with the console, AV cables and AC adapter, and two controllers. I have yet to use the controllers, because like I said earlier, the Yobo FC supports original NES controllers. However, I did at least pick them up and try them, and they feel very light and fragile (like the system). The controllers have all buttons that NES controllers have, with the additions of turbo buttons and a slow-down button. Why do you need a slow-down button? Who knows, but at least you have the option for it, right? One thing a lot of reviewers for the Yobo FC noted was how hard it is to remove games once they are inserted. I can confirm this; games slide into the console nice and easy, but you will probably need some force to take it back out. Why? It's because the 72-pin connector is brand spanking new, and thus really tight. However, I can also confirm that cleaner games can be removed much easier. So, if you have a hard time removing your games, try to clean them with a q-tip and some Windex-like cleaning fluid. Trust me; you will notice the difference afterwards.-Game Compatability-Obviously, if you're looking into buying a Famiclone, you'll want it to play your NES games! Unfortunately, the Yobo FC suffers the same problem as other Famiclones: certain games like Castlevania 3 will not work. That isn't so much a fault with the system itself, but those games have anti-piracy lockout chips... something Famiclones haven't managed to deal with.Another problem Famiclones suffer with is sound quality. What I mean is, games on Famiclones don't sound the same as they do on a real NES. But what about the Yobo FC? The general consensus is that it too has sound problems. However, mine may be a newer model or something, because the sound problems are mild at best. If you've read about the Yobo FC, the common complaint is that the music and sound effects of Super Mario Bros 1 are all wrong. However, on my system, it is about 90% accurate to the real game. In fact, every game in my collection sounds just about exactly what it should sound like. The only difference is a slight, "bzt" sound on certain music and sound effects, but past that, it's the same. Take my word for it; I take my video game music pretty seriously, and I would recognize if a game (especially a beloved classic) didn't sound the way it should. Plus, I also compared Super Mario Bros 1 on the Yobo FC with a popular NES emulator on the PC: the Yobo is about 90% accurate, with the exception of the "bzt".You're probably now wondering about the picture quality. Many reviews have stated that certain colors were off; the most notorious being the sky in Super Mario Bros 1 being blue on the NES, but purple on the Yobo FC. Again, I must have received a newer model, because I compared it with an NES emulator, and it's exactly what it should be. Other reviews have stated that there were scanlines (semi-transparent horizontal lines filling the screen, very ugly); but after two weeks of owning and constantly playing this system, I've never encountered them. The picture is also very crisp and clear. One last thing reviewers of the Yobo FC have noted was that some games, like the original Zelda, have jumbled graphics. I can tell you that I personally own the original Zelda, and it works fine on the Yobo FC. I have, however, encountered some garbled graphics; but cleaning the game cartridge with the q-tip method I mentioned earlier fixes that immediately. Basically, if you ever encounter a glitchy, screwed up looking game, clean your cartridge. It should work.-Wrap it up-If you're still reading this, let me give you a quick summary. The Yobo FC comes with everything you need to play your NES games, though you can use your own controllers if you want. The system is small, light, and seemingly fragile, so be careful with it. There's a small handful of games that will absolutely not work, but they are mostly pretty hard to find, and the only good one of that list is Castlevania 3. The picture quality on your games will be very good as long as you clean your games. And finally, the sound, while it may not be PRECISELY what it should be, is still 90% accurate (the average gamer would barely notice the difference). So if your NES is broken or dead, and you don't feel like replacing the 72-pin connector, the Yobo FC is an awesome alternative. While it may not have perfect compatability, it certainly offers reliability; and I highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to play their NES games again.

Worked for 2 months, long enough to be non-refundable.
System arrived and worked great, I tested it with Duck Hunt, and Hogans Ally. I played Bubble Bobble on it a few times then left it alone for about 2 months (I have only owned the system since the beginning of November, its now January). The system will no longer load any games, I get a solid yellow screen most of the time and a glitched jumble in black and white the rest of the time. I contacted the seller for support and here is the response they gave me"Usually The problem is people are putting old Oxidized NES games in to the system which makes the oxidation transfer over to the 72 pin connector and then all the nes games glitch out because all the contacts of the games do not touch all the pins . It is the same problem the original machine had that is why if you blow on them and put moisture on the contacts the game will work . If all your games were cleaned with a professional NES cleaning kit which we sell you would never have that problem"I clean my games with a Q-tip before each use, but I dont use the cleaning kit they sell so I guess its my fault that after putting in 3 games the system can no longer read any games. That is a cause of failure for the old systems but the original NES lasted a lot longer then 2 months. If you are willing to pay ~$10 per month that you can play your NES games then this is a great deal, otherwise steer clear.

AWESOME for the Cool Gamer!
I've had my unit now for over two years, and let me tell you it is the ultimate party piece! I own a xbox 360 and a Wii, and this is the game console everyone wants to play! The controls are a little bit different than the original Nintendo, but you get used to them within minutes. All my friends love to play the original games, and we don't feel cheated when playing on this like we do when we trying to play the original Mario on a new system. I've been able to use all of my cheats on the games, and even save progresses to the memory. I haven't encountered a game that hasn't worked on it, and I have more than 200 Nintendo games. Setup is as quick as plugging in a stereo through a couple of jacks. That's it! This system is also VERY VERY small. I was shocked when I got the box. Seriously, I think two Nintendo games stacked on top of each other together are larger than this system. The controllers are the regular sized Super Nintendo controllers though, which is what i'm used to.The only issue I have with this console is the length of the cord for the controllers. It's a little short.

My buddy had the same tv and it worked fine. Mine only works on my old tube tv
The system works ok with dr. mario. I dont have many games. It hasnt been working with the game Legendary Wings or even Mario Bros. Also,my tv wouldn't recognize the rca cables input. I tried a hdmi to rca adapter that the radio shack guy swore would work, and it didn't do jack. My buddy had the same tv and it worked fine. Mine only works on my old tube tv. Maybe I just need to filter out a bug or two. Either way, cool toy. Cheap. Fun. Not disappointed because of the price. If it cost more and did the same s***, I would be pissed. Thx

Its crappy quality
This little system is so cheap that if you even dropped it two inches it would probably break, and the games when you load them in you have to like hit them in and then its impossible to get them out again, it took me and one other person to get my nes game out of the system, and the game doesn't work very well now because of that. so if your not particular go ahead but beware you will run the risk of damaging your games.
