These are not easy! The first one says the target time is one hour!!! So it isn't a book for beginners (the clue is in the title really, isn't it)But if you are good at Suduko, you can get the hang of the logic, and I can now do an hour ish one in about two hours. So a good challenge.Answers are at the back to help you, and there is also a helpful table of possible sets of numbers for a specific number (eg only a 9+8 can fill in a 17 2-number series). This table goes right up to a specific number of 45, so all possible connotations are in there.

I checked Amazon and was delighted to find the rest of the series. I bought them and now smileThese are difficult Sudokus, with an overlay of a KenKen puzzle. Each entry must satisfy the rules for both puzzles, simultaneously. They are rated at about 1.5 hours. Expect to spend at least half that time, and sometimes over two hours. A big challenge but all the more satisfying to complete. If this seems daunting, Amazon has a similar series, a step down in difficulty, by the same publisher. You can start at the lower level and work up to the top, if you prefer.

Die "Ultimate Killer" - Reihe der Zeitschrift "The TIMES" ist für den halbwegs erfahrenen Killer-Killer bestenfalls Zeitvertreib, aber keine Herausforderung. Daher ist der Superlativ "Ultimate" hier eher fehl am Platze. Die angegebenen Zeitfenster sind utopisch lange, und es verwundert vor allen Dingen, dass die "schwereren" Rätsel am Ende des Buches oft noch deutlich schneller lösbar sind als die, die am Anfang gestellt werden. Positiv zu erwähnen ist die sehr gut (zwar in Englisch) aber verständlich erklärte Lösungstechnik zu Beginn des Buches, daher ist die Reihe zumindest für angehende Fortgeschrittene nicht uninteressant.

this is the first book of the series. it is the standard. killer sudoku is a combination of Sudoku and Kakuro. it has the rules of both. not only do all the rows, columns and subsquares have all the digits, but the cells are grouped such that each group has a sum. has become my favorite puzzle. although the book is normal paperpack size, the puzzles are as big as the larger selling competition versions. no waste of small and simple puzzles, it is a book filled with brown and black belt level. highly recommended - the whole series. best of genre
