Terramar knows how to engineer natural fibers for a performance base layer. We have been doing it for more than forty years. The thermal men's Crew is designed to keep you warm, dry and comfortable in the mountains, in the woods and any other place you look for challenges. The secret is BLENDING Merino wool with just the right amount of microfibers to make the ideal technical fabric to breathe and manage moisture. We got it right.

Soft and warm!
Soft and warm!I really like this light sweater. The merino blend is soft and warm. I am on the L/XL line (5'10" 200#) and the XL tall fits me better than the regular Large. If you are looking for a great base layer to wear with an insulated jacket for winter activities, look no further. Terramar is my go to brand for base layers, I ski 30 days a year in the North East, where the sun can go unseen for weeks on end, and the winds can bite your hinny off! These wool sweaters don't pill up, and the contrast stitching looks nice. This base layer is Worth every penny.

OK
How does it fit? I'm 65 - 5'10" and 175 pounds and in decent shape for my age. The medium is snug, but fine in the body. The arm holes and sleeves are tight. A younger person with more muscle mass on the arms would have trouble with the size at this weight.Construction is wool/poly outer layer with a thin, 100% poly-fleece lining. It is plenty warm, but the poly is next to your skin, not the wool blend.I bought two. I'll keep the one I tried on, but return the other. I give it a solid 3-star. I'd give it 4 stars if it fit me better. I wish Ibex was still in business. It was worth the price for the fit and quality.

Awesome mid weight poly/wool warmth!
This is the only thermal wear I will buy. I wear them under my uniform while at work and the warming performance is exceptional for the weight of the fabric. These are a middle weight thermal albeit on the higher side of the warmth scale. If you are looking for thermal gear for more extreme weather (a constant 15°F or lower) you'll probably want something heavier or you could just use the these for another layer. I'm 5'10" 205 lbs., fairly muscular and normally wear a large shirt. Ive purchased the thermal in both large (first) and X-large. The large fits great prior to washing but after a few wash and dry cycles it does tend to shrink just a hair making it snug. The X-large fits perfect even after washing. I also have the matching Terremar bottoms which are also pretty amazing however I only wear those when it gets REALLY cold. Dont stop making these!

Affordable, Well-Made and The Reviews Don't Lie
I did research. The research was inconclusive, so I followed the positive reviews. Previous reviewers did not lead me astray. This is an exceptional piece of clothing. Not too heavy, not too light, fast-drying, warmer-than-expected when needed and extremely comfortable. I really didn't want to take it off but after 23 miles in two days of hiking, plus another 13 hours of driving, it was not smelling the best. Smelled better than I would have thought, though.Well-made with good body feel and good mobility. I'm going to buy more.

Still searching for low cost high quality merino wool base layer!
Nice and soft warm base layer shirt. For the price it should have had a higher percentage of merino wool in its make up. True to fit which was nice. Would I buy it again if it was lost or damaged?... I really don't know... the low percentage of merino wool bothers me. I'm a huge fan of merino wool and paying over $50 for a base layer shirt is ridiculous!

Medium Tall is great!!
Medium Tall is great fit. I’m 6’ with long arms. Usually wearing a 35” sleeve in dress shirts. It’s hard to find Medium Tall shirts that fit in both the sleeve and body. This one does! Super soft and warm. Like wearing a fleece blanket. Great buy.

Huge fit
The material was soft. The package was obviously a return with the seal broken. Shirt was much looser and bigger than expected. TIP: order a size down for a proper fit.
