I bought this book before buying a 2CV, it is always wise to find out the important bits before buying.My first car was a 2CV, many moons ago, and the book made me decide to by a 2CV project car, confident that I would be able to restore it. The book is good.

Great book with lots of good information

A very much needed by a moderately competent back yard mechanic, who has few fellow owners to compare notes with.Fortunately, these delightfully simple and friendly"tin snails" are easy to work on.

Good book for 2 CV's

This book is a great overview for restoring and repairing a Citroen 2cv. The photos and step-by-step instructions woul dbe very helpful for any 2cv owner.

I think this an insightful book with great photos. It is a must for all 2cv owners along with the Chiltons.

My 2CV does not give me much trouble so I was slow to discover this AWESOME book! I decided to do a brake job and this book was suggested to me by French Parts, FPS that supplies me parts for my 2CV. I have never paid this much for any book EVER and was a bit skeptical...until I got it. WOW!! I am SO impressed. This book has hundreds upon hundreds of full color quality pictures. It seems to picture every possible task with regard to repair. It is also a super reference tool with every specification imaginable. The author needs to be given some sort of award for undertaking such an in depth project. Oh, and the price? Well I honestly was completely at ease with the cost once I had spent 60 seconds paging through it. WELL worth the price and MORE for sure. I honestly would consider this a "must have" for any lucky owner of a Citroen 2CV. Thank you Mr. Porter for this ABSOLUTELY AWESOME PUBLICATION!!! ( Oh, by the way....Did I mention that I really like this book? )

I must admit I was somewhat put off by the high price, I shopped around and got it cheaper from an Amazon Market place seller than from Amazon directly. But it is actually worth the money. It's printed in full colour to a high standard. The paper is also very good quality, the paper both feels nice to the touch and the book is very heavy as a result. Don't compare this to a Haynes manual with it's rough blotting paper and muddy looking black and white photos. It's also very well written as all of Porter's books are.

Buen libro, aunque dependiendo del modelo rendras mas o menos detalle en la informacion. Pero es muy util de todas formas para acometer un proyecto de restauracion. No tanto para el mantenimiento y pequeños trabajos.

Für alle Entenliebhaber, die sich mit der Reparatur oder auch Restaurierung ihres Autos beschäftigen, ist dieses Buch fast unersetzlich.Durch die gute Gliederung, die weit über 1000 farbigen hochwertigen Fotos und dem hilfreichen Begleit-Text ist das Buch eine sehr wertvolle Informations-Quelle. Schon aus dem Vorwort wird die besondere Liebe des Autors zum 2CV deutlich.Herr Porter hat wirklich sein Bestes gegeben.Englische Sprachkenntnisse sind kaum nötig.Einziger negativer Aspekt ist die enorme Preissteigerung des Buches:Der Preis hat sich innerhalb weniger Jahre verdoppelt!

a year ago I bought a 2CV, and even though it's in a good shape, I intend to restore it myself, since the chassis and the suspension I believe, need attention. Since this will cost a bit and even more if the work is done in a shop, I decided to buy this book "How to Restore Citroen 2CV" from Lindsay Porter.The book is awesome, starting with first chapter focusing on basics safety instructions,followed by ten more chapters focusing in maintenance, engine/transmission repair,brakes,suspension, electrics, body work and so on.All these info is complemented by hundreds of colourful pictures, detailing the work needed to do. In the end, for the price paid,and the knowledge that I gained by reading this book, along with videos Youtube about the 2CV, I am confident enough to restore my CITRO, saving myself thousands in repairs.I also have a Haynes (in my opinion NOT as good as this one being reviewed) manual about the 2CV, so these two books are a great help for anyone wanting to take such a task. Buy it, you will not regret!!!!2CV the Dream to own a CLASSIC!
