A great toy for any age, even adults.
This is a great play-set. The stickers do take some patience to get on straight, but it's well worth the extra time.The figures are a bit small for adult hands, but for kids, I'm sure it's no problem.I'd be very careful about the small bits, as these do present a choking hazard.I only wish the clip on plastic lights actually had LEDs in them, but I'm sure someone can easily mod them with a model car LED kit, no problem.The speakers could've been made to look more like real speakers with speaker stands, but the same goes for these, just mod them with styrene plastic on the bottom of the speakers, and drill a hole for the mic stands to fit into, and there, you go, realistic looking speakers. But, as is, these are very cool, even if the speakers' fronts were stickers. It's a toy, LOL.I like the electronic component can be coupled with an music player, and the lights flash on this component. Sure would've been nice if the factory had made it so you could plug working LED fixtures into it, instead of the plastic ones that came with the set. Maybe I ask too much?The parts are very small, and do present a choking hazard, even when fully assembled, so parents or guardians need to attend.All, in all, it's pretty awesome toy, even for adults. I have mine permanently set up with some other figures I've put on the stage, playing their own instruments.Oh, there's no keyboardist, unfortunately. You have to get that separately.

My son's favorite toy but imagination definitely required
If you have a child with a big imagination then the Playmobil toys are for them. They aren't Legos - you don't build and rebuild with them or follow a set of instructions - you just play with them. There is some ability to change things up with this set, such as who gets which instrument, microphone, etc. The expansion kits plus the bus make it even better. My 4 year old son, who happens to love music and instruments as well as has a big imagination, plays with this and the expansion sets every day for the past year. For hours and hours. And we haven't even shown him yet that it can connect to a music player or that the bus can become remote control so there is room for growth as well.

Fantastic idea from Playmobl !!!!I recommend the separate keyboard player to go with the ensemble, too! The seller is in the top ten, too!!!!These toys are much better for the imaginative player, as opposed to the builder/engineer type player, which is better addressed by Lego. Some children do not like to sit and construct their play items. With this item, however, an adult can help with minor assembly that takes all of 45 minutes.Now, this is MP-3 compatible so the downloaded music can be plugged right into the set. Moreover, the lights give it an extra boost.

The set did look very nice all put together and the small scratches became un ...
The box did come a little banged up and the pieces in the box were able to slide around and some fid end up with a few small scratches because of this. I don't believe this is a seller problem but a problem from the company its self. All the parts and pieces were there. I haven't had the opportunity to put batteries in it yet. Fingers crossed for when I do. The set did look very nice all put together and the small scratches became un noticeable.

Looks really good, was a very fun build and when connected ...
I bought this one for myself to display in my home recording studio. My children and I all collect playmobil, but this set is for daddy. Looks really good, was a very fun build and when connected to my phone or PC via the phono plug adapter will play music through the speakers and provide a lightshow. Great for playmobil collectors and musicians that love decorations like this around their house. Oh, and of course I let my kids play with it and they love it too.

Great toy
My 6 year old son is musically gifted and spends a lot of time playing music and playing with instruments but it was challenging getting him interested in other pretend play. This did the trick. He loves it. He loves to set up the figures and decide which instrument they will play. He loves that it plays music and has a "light show". As is typical for all playmobil sets, it does come apart rather easily but is then easily snapped back together. There aren't too many parts to assemble compared to most other sets (my daughter loves playmobil and has a few sets with a million little pieces to assemble).

It Plays Your Music with Adequate Quality
Finally got a stage where I can imagine my friends and I in a band. This set provides several instruments and it is awesome that they also provided a little MP3 player. Even if the sound quality isn't that great, having the opportunity to play some music is just awesome. Another nice set made by Playmobil.

Great toy!
This is easy to put together and fun to play with! The only issue is the sound on the high level is not clear and scratchy - but it is too loud anyway for kids to enjoy, so the low level sound is perfect for play. Good lights beating to music! We purchased the extra set with the keyboard player for more people.
