SorelWomen's Explorer Joan Waterproof Winter Boots

I LOVE these boots. They are generally well made, warm and super comfy. I can wear them all day and my feet stay warm, and don't ache or feel uncomfortable. Yes, if you need good arch support, these will probably not be supportive enough, but if that's not a problem for you, they might just be OK for you. Much has been made in the comments about the disparity in sizing but there are a few easy ways to resolve this.1. DO NOT REFER TO THE SIZE CHART IN THE IMAGES - it is inaccurate. Only refer to the Sorel size chart underneath the pictures or on the Sorel website.2. Use the cm/inches guide to work out what size shoe is right for you, not just the UK/EU/USA standard measurements. To get this right, measure the length of your foot using the Sorel guide. Then, based on your foot length, identify what should be the right size for you. However...3. Do apply some common sense based upon what you know works best for your feet. E.g. My feet are 24.5cm long and the Sorel guide indicates that a UK6 should fit. HOWEVER - I dont like having squished up toes and so vary in shoe size between UK5 to UK6.5 depending upon the shoe. So, I ordered a UK6.5 based on what I felt would be suitable. They fit perfectly and I can wear one or two pairs of normal thickness socks with them, depending upon the need. I would add that my feet are D width which is generally considered average. However, if you have particularly wide feet, or want to wear thicker socks, I would suggest you size up a bit more.Now I have these I really don't know how I've managed without a pair before! They are my new winter favourites. If I could wear them all day, every day, I would.

Bought these on offer, so good value. Very comfortable, light and warm. Sizing is small, so go up at least a size or size and a half if you want to wear thicker socks. I wear size40 for comfort but I could have used an extra half size in this case.Nice leather upper, seems to be fairly water-resistant.Made in VIETNAM, makes a change.

This pair of boots look famtastic and I'm sure they do what they say on the tin. However they came up very narrow. The advice was to get one size larger than usual, as my feet are a little wide (I normally have relaxed fit) therefore I bought 2 sizes larger, an 8 rather than a 6 which is my usual size. but the boots were still very narrow and pinched all around the toes and instep area. It was very disappointing as the boots look well made and very attractive in style. They did feel quite clumpy when on as the soles are very thick and not very flexible, more like a heavy duty walking boot. They had good instep support and were a good height on my legs, I would definitely buy these if they made a wider fitting. If you've got narrow feet I'd recommend them, but not if you've got a D or more width foot. The price is on the high side, coming up about £30-40 more than a comparable popular American brand, but if they are fully waterproof (I didn't get a chance to test this) and last well for several years they would be worth the extra money.

These are the comfiest winter boots that I have ever worn. They are very well made, and they feel like I am walking on a cloud.They are a bit small, so I would suggest going up one size.

Points of interest-Go up a full size, dont mess about taking out the insole because its actually comfortable, just get a size up.They are waterproof, BUT to a point, as they're suede, so the sole and around an inch from the bottom are waterproof, dont go standing in massive puddles with these.The fur is only around the top... however... the inside is padded on the sides right up until the toe area.The insoles as stated are comfortable , soft, great for walking on for long periods of time..These are medium width on the feet. I have wide feet and can still wear wool socks with these, but only thin ones.I have worn these all day at work, and yes, they're warm, yes, theyre soft on the feet, no rubbing at all.They look good and the quality is of sorel standard, so I believe these to be real.I happily recommend these,and I'd buy some more in a different colour in the future... I have quite a few of the Explorer Carnival boots and this is the first of this style I've tried. As a brand, do run small but they fit brilliantly for me being a small narrow UK2.5/3. My toes are snug inside wearing a normal pair of socks. I would however recc. sizing up at least 1 for regular sized feet and for those who want to wear thick socks might have to go 2 sizes up. Inside is a soft fleece lining throughout the boot with a slight "memory foam" effect on the foot bed. They are really light (like a tough version of trainers) and easily worn from the minute you put them on and your feet are kept really toasty warm. They are a waterproof suede in a beautiful wine/plum colour with a little bit of grey fake fur trim at top. I really love them and highly rec the brand but sizing is small!!!!!

These are undoubtedly beautiful, warm, sturdy boots BUT, I have two other pairs of Sorel boots, both at their UK 8.5, which fit well - arguably a little on the large side - but these are like night and day. I ordered the same size as my others but these are so small they unwearable. If you're considering a purchase - don't hesitate in going up a size!I came back onto Amazon to see if i could exchange/order a larger size only to find that that have gone up £50 in three days.I just don't bother to write reviews unless I feel strongly about something but I am so disappointed in both the product and Amazon.

Got the quarry/black color.. SHoe has both same size 6 but when I tried it the Left pair is a bit tight and slightly darker shade compared to the Right pair. The parcel arrived 2 days early but the "tracking package" information was not updated..It says item still on "Shipping" while in fact it was already delivered.

Size up! I normally wear an 8; I bought size 9, which fit well with regular socks but not bulky socks.Sizing issues aside, I really like these boots. They are comfortable, warm, and cute. I'd rate them about 85% for grip on ice. I got some cleats to strap on them next time it's icy here. I've only had them just over a month, so it's far too soon to comment on longevity.
