BroanNutone S97020888 Heater Element Only for Heater/Fan/Light

The unit is easy to replace. It puts out good heat. This is the second replacement part I have purchased for the fan/light/heater unit. They seem to last about 3-4 years then just stop. The issue is the thermal fuse. They seem to just get old and stop conducting. Maybe I'm just cheap but for a part that is just a resistance coil and a fuse, I think it should last longer.I was able to find replacement fuses on amazon, Thermal Fuse Thermal Cutoff Limiter 110C Degrees Celsius 10 Pack for $10,, so I purchased those and after installing the new item here, I cut out the fuse from the old unit and soldered in the replacement fuse, put all of that in the little box and saved it for the next time it goes out and will rotate the parts then and solder up the next one.

Watched a YouTube video and installed this in half an hour total time (female homeowner ). That included going to the basement twice getting some tools. Works great. Thank you!

I was able to get the heater working again on my Broan bathroom fan. I believe the thermal fuse failed and unfortunately it is not replaceable. It is a bummer since the thermal fuse cost is less than $1. Remember to remove and clean the heater assembly frequently to keep it fully functional.

the first one failed and this one worked fine. I was getting frustrated and wondering what i was doing wrong, but it is straightforward on the u tube instructions and after taking it apart several times now I am a old pro at it.

Was ready to hit the button to purchase a new Light/Fan/Heater from Home Depot. I saw that someone asked about replacing heater element and I started to look into that. Watched one You Tube Video and was ready to repair. 40 bucks to repair instead of 280 for a new one. 2 Screws to pop out the heater motor and 2 plug in wire clips. Blow it out good, you'll be amazed at the lint and fur that come flying out. Works like new!!!

Online reviews suggest that Broan heaters last anywhere from 1 to 7 years before failing. The entire unit doesn't fail, just the heating element. There are three ways to fix them. One is a 79 cent part that requires soldering - risky and requires specific abilities. Another is to replace the entire unit - expensive to replace a unit that is otherwise fully functional.This is the third method. It is reasonably priced, approximately $30. The two biggest skills to install it are knowing where/how to turn off the power and which end of the screwdriver goes on the screw. I took an advanced course, so I used a nut driver with a magnetic head, to keep me from dropping any of the screws. As there were no leftover screws or holes, I must have done well. It also powered right up and had my bathroom re-heating itself, 15 minutes after I opened the box.Search YouTube for specific instructions, based on the model number. Amazon seems to hate links to outside stuff, so you'll have to do your own searching. You got this far, so you should be able to manage. It will be good practice for figuring out the screwdriver thing
