This is perfect if you have an aquarium
My fish would be dead without this. I have Glo fish and it is hard to keep the tank clean. Removing water is extremely easy with the hose. I like all the various attachments that come with the vacuum. I wish some were easier to clean and I wish it came with an extra filter for when you are using it to clean the tank. I have a 10 gallon tank and a 20 gallon tank so I didn’t need to extend the handle to use it. I have had this for over a year and it still works great. Quality is great and it was worth every penny. It is easy to assemble and you can control the vacuum flow when using it to clean the tank but not to remove water. Love this product!! This is very quiet and I also love that as well.

Don't buy
Very low suction not worth the effort, will work as a syphon only but narrow tube so slow to syphon water out of tank

Works as Intended : Update
I cannot attest to its prolonged use as I just got this . I am breaking down my 60 gallon tank and I needed something to empty the water. My first try using this product worked great. 5 gall0ns out in a couple of minutes. On and off switch controls the motor. My only problem was wrapping up excess electrical cord as they give a lot of cord, however the product is supposedly good up to 200 gallon so long cord was necessary. The small manual could use some improvement, step by step but common sense puts this together. that and videos. Update: After emptying about20 gallons stopped suctioning. I took off the long plastic tube for sand, removed the sponge an d still no suction. Took off the tube and checked to see if motor was running and covered the inlet with my finger and got suction. switched to the round flat attachment, shortened the hose and it began working again. Filled another 5 gallon bucket..

I REALLY wanted to like this!
I really did. I really wanted this. Price was right. Concept is great. They almost have it right. Unboxing: Instructions - written in foreign English....Pictures are small and without many words, but you can figure out how to put it together. The instr. include Change water, Sand washing, Aspirate dirt mode, Rain mode (which would be a cool feature for a turtle tank!), Cleaning the motor, Rain shower head, Sand washing head. Note - nothing about the gravel cleaning attachment or the brush attachment. The brush attachment BTW is awesome for scrubbing/vacuuming off the big rocks. It's easy enough to put together and figure it out, with or without the useless instructions. So, the gravel washer - it worked for a bit and happily sucked up the detritus from the gravel. The suction is strong enough. HOWEVER, the black sponge filter inside the clear plastic gravel cleaner (not seen in description pics) gets clogged and then sucks itself up toward the vacuum motor and all cleaning stops. There is no way to clean it out. I was able to use a chopstick to push the spongy filter and move it about while running it under the sink faucet, however this was time consuming and had to be done repeatedly. If that wasn't a problem, this would not be a bad item. I can not review the other attachments, as I do not think they are for use on gravel, and I didn't want to ruin the motor sucking up gravel. There were no problems with the electrical plugs and it seems they have gotten rid of the telescoping handle and replaced it with pieces that screw on so you can adjust the length of the handle....now if it weren't for that pesky filter......

Works very well
I bought this about a month ago for my 29 gallon tank. Compared to other gravel cleaner/siphons, it's really easy to use and I find I'm sticking to my weekly water changes, and spending less time struggling with the siphoning. The other products either had too large a gravel cleaner which was hard to control and knocked plants and décor around, or the hand pump for the siphon was just too hard to use. This product starts siphoning very easily and quickly, the clamp does a good job holding the tubing in my bucket. I can also place my bucket on top of my cart that I can wheel, so I'm not lifting a heavy bucket as much. The flow might be a little bit slower on the cart with less gravity helping, but it's still works fine. I then rinse out my various HOB filter media in the tank water bucket on a rotating schedule so as not to disrupt the beneficial bacteria. The siphon is easy to pull apart and reassemble to clean out. The boxtech product does a better job of helping me keep my tank clean, after trying other siphons, I highly recommend this one.

Really, 4.5 stars
I read all the reviews, then decided to buy this because I battle EVERY other siphon there is. One reviewer stated that the hose that comes with the unit is useless, and YUP!, happened to me too! But I was forewarned.Since I have trouble lifting heavy buckets, and hate messes, I took the unit to my “helpful hardware man” and bought a 25’ piece of clear PVC tubing, fitted to the tubing, as well as a clamp to make sure the tube won’t come off. It wasn’t cheap, but not too spendy either..I can run the tube to my kitchen sink or out a door or window. It has taken 85% of my frustrations out cleaning my tanks. But when it comes to attachments, NONE of mine are 360* attachments. Maybe something is missing? And for the life of me, I cannot get the brush attachment to stay in the pump unit. This is sad, since I could REALLY use that one!

It sucks, but not in the good way.
I was super excited to get this because the air pressing button is a great idea. The bad part is that it doesn't work. The material is good, and it doesn't seem cheaply made. The button just doesn't have enough power to get the water up and going. We still use it, but my husband has to get it started the old fashion way. With his mouth. Sometimes the tank water gets in his mouth, and that is disgusting. I could have paid less for another product to be used the same way. Overall, I'd probably go with something else if the button was the reason you were thinking of getting this.
