TunzeUSA 6208.000 Wavebox Aquarium Wave Generator, Suitable for Tanks, Up to 200-Gallon

this wave box is supposed to work on tanks up to 200 g. well my aquarium is 180 and it didn't even tickle it!! my return pump makes a better wave than this. the product could be helpful on a 50 g tank but nothing passed that. when you read the instructions they make it seemed so powerful that water is going to come out the tank if u r not supervising it. well, i was hoping for that, but that was not the case. too expensive for what it does. its just a little motor in a box. disappointed.

I decided to replace my Ecotech MP-40 with this wavebox and two other Tunze power heads. Even with just the wavebox running alone, it's already a producing better movement and is MUCH quieter than the MP-40.Setup- Very surprised how easy this was to setup. There's an "automatic mode" that lets you see the wave it's making and then lock that particular setting in. Magnets are very strong, but once you put the unit is in the tank, the magnets are not a problem. I was picturing the "dry-side" magnet slamming against the "wet-side" magnet, not the case at all. *I do not use the photocell for the unit to turn off or down at night. The ocean doesn't turn off, and many reefers agree the photocell shouldn't be used for reef tanks.Movement- I have this running on a 90 gallon mixed reef tank and it provides great movement around the entire tank. Polyp extension on my SPS corals was almost immediate.Quite- Initial operation is much quieter than the MP-40 and other power heads, but the 1 to 3 week break-in period is supposed to quite the unit even more. Even with the "louder" initial operation, it's very quiet. I have my tank in area we spend a lot of time in, and it's not distracting like the Ecotech.Low Profile- Not what I expected, but the unit hides in the corner of my tank extremely well. Granted, the back of my tank is painted black. The size of this is very compact as well.For anyone with a reef tank, I think this is a must have.

Great product! Wanted one for awhile and finally bought it. You need to have a tank with enough room at top for box to petrude out of water about an 1" and to allow water movement so water doesn't splash out of tank. I tried it fully submerged and it doesn't really work. I have a 90G reef tank and easily getting an 1" plus wave motion.
