Pocket Guide to Psychiatric Nursing

If you are in nursing school and doing your clinic rotation for psych you NEED this book. It has everything. Therapeutic communication guidelines, psychosocial stages of development, suicide assessment risks, and any nursing plan you coud ever want for mental illness. If you have a teaching plan, a interpersonal record of communication, a psychosocial assessment and treatment plan, or a mental status exam, this is what you want to be using.

This book was a life saver during my Psych rotation for Nursing School. The sections were broken down easily, and the NANDA diagnoses and interventions were very helpful. I don't think I would have survived my care plans without it. Honestly, we had this book and the full-sized book, and this book provided enough information that I did not even need the other.10/10 would recommend!

I used this for my Mental Health class for Nursing school. This was shipped to me really quick and came in the exact condition as stated. It was really informative and easy to read. Although my teacher didn't have us use this book the whole semester, I still ended up reading it for supplemental information. I'm really glad I purchased this because it make concepts easier to understand.

I would rate this 5 stars as a rental; it was handy to have the little book while I was doing a psych clinical. I ended up buying it because I forgot to return the rental on time and the purchase price was less than the hassle of taking it to UPS. I didn't find it necessary or all that helpful since the Townsend text and Carpenito's "Nursing Diagnosis" were assigned texts and contained all the information in this booklet.

So happy with this resource for nursing school. I only wish I had bought it sooner!
