Hard to say really, I did a lot of research on floor vanish in general and this one came up as the best after test carried out for hard wearing and drying time. The color was ideal, but on my floor it came up lighter but still looks really nice, I gave 2 coats but didn't take it any darker. Only time will tell for wear.

Good, but hard to make great
A good product, nice finish, but tricky to apply. Pricey. So four stars. Our floor is unfilled engineered oak, with knots and flaws. It was freshly installed. It got a light sanding by hand and dust removal.I did some tests on off cuts. Tin suggested buffing isn't required, but it looked glossier when I didn't (marginal) so I decided to buff the whole floor and most suppliers say buff.My test also had a thin double coat and a very thin double coat. Very thin looked as good as thin.I applied with a 4 inch axis blonde - mohair wool. Initially I used pressure as I went to ensure thinly spread. Buffing as I went.As I got going I realised a lot of pressure was needed to keep it thin. As you are buffing relatively quickly, what is the point of too much? It just ends up in the cloth. Bona has a better online guide in this respect than blanchon.I brushed into knots, edges and joins. I did roll again as brushes put far too much on.Some things not to do..Heat makes it dry faster. In the current heat and sun, pick time to apply carefully. The need to work to complete areas at pace, gets worse in the heat.Don't buff into un coated areas. Don't over spread. You can see where the hardwax doesn't sink in, because there is a small over spill that has dried and is stopping oil from penetrating.Ideally you complete the full area in one. Long even runs along the plank. Buffed. If you do over spill or have to stop (do not feather, stop at a plank end and edge with hard stop), the best I found was to rub down the hard wax with 120 grit, then 240 to get back to the wood, so that differences can be evened out. It got the colour and tone back to the same as the rest of the floor. But the sheen levels are much harder to balance across different areas... I'd say this is the principle difficulty. For a food safe product it does stink. It might help if two people did. I did by myself manually. At the end of the day the look is good. And it's easy to achieve a good result with hard work. But to get a great result isn't easy and the price is pretty high so 4 stars. All the other products are similar, so I'm not sure if the 5* product exists.
